My interactions with the owner beforehand were great, but unfortunately as another reviewer mentioned this place closed pretty unexpectedly. Luckily I did not prepay so I didn't run into any issues with refunds, but it was certainly an unpleasant surprise 2 weeks before the trip.
Booked in March to Stay on June 30th. Paid a deposit of £30 for the weekend only to be sent a generic email 2 days before my arrival stating that my booking was cancelled. No reason given, no refund issued.

This "guesthouse" or "hostel" was terrible. We had just driven a few hours from Whistler in pouring rain and were tired. We arrived at 6pm and we were met with some guy in dreadlocks (another guest) and the owner, Patrick who said "where have you...More
I stayed at the Urban Hideaway while taking a course at the very nearby B.C.I.T. Arriving from the airport, it's a short walk from the station in Gastown and everything else downtown Vancouver has to offer. The breakfast offers a beautiful bounty of cereals, muffins,...More
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of
Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.

Hello, yes there is! We have a couple of options. We have our Loft suite which has a large Double bed for the parents, a foldout Sofa-bed and we can add a cot suitable for the youngest if needed. This room is our largest room and it stretches the length of the building, complete with a private shower and toilet, table and chairs, TV/DVD combo and lots of plants. The other option we have is called our Friends and Family room. It has 2 adult sized bunk beds, a TV/DVD combo, a wash basin for teeth brushing etc and a desk. There is also a small window box style sitting area. Our rooms are priced based on the season and availability. Contact us direct for more information.
