From start to finish this was the best getaway experience anyone could do as a couple, single or family!

Check in was incredibly easy with being picked up at the docks and brought to the boat where they gave us a tour around, told us about the history of the boat and checked us into our room that each had their own charming character.

Taylor, Josh, Ellie and Meg work incredibly hard to provide an experience for each and every guest. They provide both a family style dinner and breakfast with organic and locally sourced ingredients cooked right on the boat in the kitchen! The food was amazing and even if people had any allergies or dietary requirements they made sure everyone was cared for and walked away with a full belly!

Another amazing thing about the boat is they provided you with the whole experience of seeing all the inlet has to offers with wildlife, relaxation and activities! With the outdoors equipment you could do a trip out in the kayaks/paddle boards or row boat. If you are more about the relaxing on vacation, they have a firewood sauna for you to relax and soak in the view followed by doing a cold plunge into the ocean. Or even sitting on the top deck soaking in the view or wildlife like bears, seals and more!

10/10 experience I could not recommend enough

Our family of 5 stayed on this beautiful 100 yr old boat B&B. Hosts Josh and Taylor were amazing! Breakfast was homemade scones and blackberry jam, smoked salmon frittata. Our kids kayaked while we lounged on the sun deck. Amazing experience!

Our vacation on The Innchanter was incredible! Josh and Taylor (and Ellie the canine Queen of the ship) were amazing hosts, very welcoming, friendly and hard working. Such a unique experience on the boat. The town of Ucluelet is also a very quaint and beautiful area. We loved walking the beaches and hiking some of the gorgeous trails. Can't wait to return! The meals that Josh and Taylor prepared were out of this world. Can't get any fresher than catching crab and fishing for fresh salmon. The meal presentation is also beautiful. They recieve a weekly supply of fresh locally grown fruit, veggies and eggs. A true farm to table experience. The morning baking was delicious, and enjoying meals in the dining room with the panoramic view was breathtaking. So much to do on your stay as well. Paddleboards, kayaking, lounging on the top deck with a cocktail, curling up with a good book , pulling up the crab traps, relaxing in the wood burning sauna and then taking a cold plunge in either the ocean or the cold barrel, and of course the wonderful conversations with these two inspiring hosts and the other guests staying on the Innchanter. All of the Staterooms had their own unique charm. The beds were supper comfortable, we had amazing sleeps. Thank you Josh and Taylor (and Ellie) for such a memorable vacation. We will definitely be returning for another holiday on The Innchanter

This experience is a must do! As an Australian traveller that has stayed at many different places around the world this B&B experience was by far the best and should be on everyone’s bucket list!

Josh and Taylor the owners of The InnChanter were so welcoming and made me feel right at home. They take so much pride in showing the boat’s history and keeping its charming character for everyone to enjoy.

This was such a great experience for me, relaxing on the boat, going in the sauna and seeing so much wildlife Canada has to offer from right off the boat. I saw my first bear, sea lion, otter and so much more! And to top it off the food was amazing both breakfast and dinner getting to sit at the dining room table with everyone looking at the views all around.

10/10 highly recommend

This is the perfect getaway. Our group spent 2 lovely days laying in the sun/sauna, swimming, paddle boarding and taking in the scenery. The boat hosts were lovely and considerate. The space was beautiful and full of unique history. The food was amazing and fresh daily. Highlights were fresh crab and watching the sunset while sipping cocktails. We have been highly recommending this stay to anyone looking to make a trip to Ucluelet. Will be back!

Had a great experience on the Innchanter with our family. It was truly a unique experience. The boat had character and ambiance and Josh and Taylor (and Ellie) were awesome hosts - down to earth and easy to chat with.
We got to kayak - near sea lions, along the shores, to a secluded waterfall in the forest, and into town. Explored Ucleulet and Tofino and the cool coffee shops, art stores, tourist stores, and hiked a few awesome forest trails and along beaches. It is so beautiful here.
Our meals were delicious and creative - I wanted to take J & T home with us to be our personal chefs!!
The sauna/ocean dip was an experience. It was fun to challenge ourselves with a 3 minute cold dip before warming back up in the sauna. I was proud that I managed it and surprised how refreshed I felt after. And our kids loved jumping off the top into the water below!
We got to spend some quality time with our family playing games, exploring, and just hanging out. And the beds and bedding were very comfy!
Thank you J & T and sweet Ellie for an amazing experience. It is one in our top ten list!

A truly magical floating retreat! Time moves slower on the boat, stress floats away and the day breezes by. I love this boat. Cozy sleeps, amazing eats, magical midnight saunas, unreal people and the most special pup (captain Ellie)!

Definitely a special addition to any visit to Ukee!

My art group/collective picked the Innchanter as the place to have our end of year celebration together, completely on a whim. It was a completely fantastic experience from start to finish. The boat, the story behind it, our hosts, the scenery, and the food were all fantastic, and it proved to be a magical experience. I'm a larger person (6'0, 200+ lbs) and I was concerned I might have trouble getting around on the boat, but everything from the beds to the furniture was sturdy and there were no areas that I found hard to navigate or uncomfortable. Our hosts (and Ellie the dog!) were a joy and their knowledge of the area and Ucluelet history and current social and culture happenings were particularly enjoyable. The food was a surprise standout, the breakfast banana bread in particular!
I will definitely be back for more and be bringing friends.

I realize that TripAdvisor is the bread & butter for this place, so a negative review and can be devastating. I considered not writing this, but I think people need to know that the current reviews do not tell the full picture of this bed & breakfast. The location is absolutely amazing, no question, and given that the InnChanter is the only overnight option to the hot springs, you are at their mercy. That said, the prices that they charge vs. the value of what you get is not reasonable. My family of four stayed here recently for $480.

The price included dinner and breakfast. I was looking forward to the "gourmet" meals that I had read so much about. It was legitimately cool to see the fisherman show up at 4:00 with a freshly caught halibut. We were later told by Mark, our host, that it was a good thing he came when he did, because "Plan B was chicken." The halibut was over cooked with crushed wasabi peas served with white rice and a green salad with lettuce that had certainly seen better days. I am admittedly a food snob, but this is hardly the gourmet fare that it had been built up to be. Breakfast was also thrown together with pantry staples that seemed to have been sitting on the shelf a little too long. Mealy apples and bananas were the only fruits offered.

Second, the sleeping, it's a boat. I get it. I was not expecting luxury, but I also wasn't expecting to be woken up by the comings and goings of a random stranger in the middle of the night. While we were there, some guy that was never introduced to us and we were never told would be sleeping with us, came in around midnight and then promptly left again at 6:30am. It's a small, old (creaky) boat. We heard everything. None of us got a particularly good night's sleep, but my husband literally didn't sleep at all. To add insult to injury here, there was an alarm that went off for about 45 minutes at 3:00 in the morning. We were told later it was an alarm from the inverter that the batteries were too low. The kicker is that the reason it went off for 45 minutes without anyone turning it off is because Mark had conveniently left for an evening at the Hot Springs.

Finally, there was the "mandatory" gratuity. Even though we were disappointed with the service, we did not complain, we just packed up our bags and were ready to chalk this one up to "adventure." However, as we were settling up our bill, we saw that Mark had added a mandatory gratuity of $50 to our tab. I was/am speechless. I had to tip this guy? On all levels this place under delivered. With the alarm going off, the strangers coming and going, I simply did not feel safe.

The only saving grace is that perhaps Sean, the owner who was not around during our stay, really does run a tighter ship. I hope that he is a better cook and a better host. One who does not abandon his guests, and one who does not invite casual acquaintances to join him on the ship while he has paying guests.

Hey, we stayed there I August We did bring our own alcohol, not too sure if they have anything available on board though. Traveling to and from there flying or boat or is great. I'd suggest flying in as check ins at 4, then take a nice boat ride out when you leave :). As for clothing, bring a light coat as it will be September. Pack extra towels, swim suit and water shoes I'd highly recommend as the hot springs are in natural rock so can get slippery. And I'd also recommend flashlights for the evening If you plan on the evening which you should as it is less busy pretty much private, we stayed in there until 2am lol. Have fun!!!!
