Just compleated a great holiday at the Tides Inn. The view from our room was directly on to a cove with islands and mountains over the water. Perfect !
The room and bathroom were extremly comfortable, and well proportioned . We had a jazuzzi bath, and a deck to sit and admire the view. And their was an outdoor hot tub too !!!
Their was a sandy cove (Tonquin Beach) a 5 min walk, and it was a short walk to the center of Tofino for restaurants etc. very conveniently placed.
The breakfasts were outstanding, and the price for our stay was great value considering the facilities.
The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the place was well run.
Its the best B & B we have stayed at !
I would thoroughly recommend it.
Im sure we will go back.

Didn't know what to expect, but Val was great on the phone. I had search this area trying to find a room for July and everything was booked that was not over $200! I accidently found this wonderful paradise on the Net and immediately sent and email and then called.

THe room was wonderful and large. Fireplace and 2 person shower. Most units have kitchens in their unit but ours was just outside. Not a problem at all. Bed was comfortable, Place was full but quiet. The view as you can see was magnificent. It's a short walk into town and the town is small so you can walk it too. The inn is close to some short trails as well. It was rather cool when we were there so the sea kayaking was out for me. It was also very foggy as well. Hey Mother Nature does what she wants and doesn't listen to our needs!

Since my friend does not know that 7:30 or 9am are hours that exist in a day we did not have breakfast but the smell of fresh muffins and goodies was wonderful.

Excellent stay! Good service and friendly. A must stay! You won't regret it!

My sister and I stayed at Tides Inn for two nights in September. We hadn't travelled together for almost 30 years. We were looking for a B&B that was conveniently located to downtown Tofino and with enough room that the two of us could have our space. The room we rented had a king bed and a half dividing wall with a single bed. It also had a large living room area with an electric fireplace. The room was beautiful and so was the very spacious bathroom.
The setting was also wonderful. Our room had floor to ceiling windows across the bedroom and living room areas. We had a separate entrance to the outside which led to both the garden/decks and around the house to the driveway. From the deck, there was a staircase down to the private cove. It was a rocky beach with a mountain in the background and eagles flying overhead. Stunningly beautiful.
Our breakfasts were delicious and Val made us feel very much at home. She also gave us excellent restaurant suggestions.
We highly recommend the Tides Inn in Tofino.

We contacted Val directly avoiding all the hype by the so-called booking services. She was helpful on the phone and gave us good directions to find her place. The view from the room was fantastic, overlooking a small cove with the mountains in the background. There were steps down to the cove so we could walk along the small beach at low tide.
When we checked in, Val asked us about our interests and were able to direct us to all the things we came to enjoy in the Tofino area. She gave a few tips on where to eat and not to eat!
Her breakfasts were great, and as couple who has stayed in many B&Bs we would rate them as 8 out of 10!!
Of course the conversations around the table in the morning with people from Germany, Holland and Canada were always rewarding. Would we stay again? NO question we would

We stayed in September 2014 in the Barnacle Room and the room was perfect! It's a large room with a King sized bed & a twin, it also has a sink & refrigerator. The bathroom is lovely with a large tub/shower and plenty of closet space. Unfortunately Val was away during our visit but we were served well by Harley. Our breakfasts were wonderful and it was great to meet other travelers most were International! We really enjoyed sitting on the deck with a glass of wine it was very quiet and peaceful! We highly recommend The Tides Inn!

We were in the Dungeness room, which suited us wonderfully. It was off the yard which had two lovely sitting areas (small decks) overlooking the beach. The room was very spacious--had a small table and in front of the fireplace two comfy chairs. We had access to a shared kitchenette with fridge, sink, dishes, kettle and micro. We had wine and take out dinner on the deck one night. I think other units have kitchenette within the unit if that is important to you.

Don't miss out on walking down the stairs to their beach.

We had a car but usually walked to town--10 minutes to shops, restaurants & harbor.

Val's breakfasts were just amazing.

The best thing about The Tides Inn is the views. Most B&B's in Tofino are NOT located on the water. However, The Tides Inn is on a cliff overlooking the bay at the west end of Tofino. The view is fantastic!!!

As some reviews have noted, The Tides Inn is a little worn. It is not bad, but it is also not a high end B&B. However, the price is lower than many B&B's so The Tides Inn is a good value.

We did have one complaint. There is no common area in the house for the guests to congregate and talk. There is plenty of room outside with good chairs (and the great view) where we were able to sit and talk with other guests. However, we had a very rainy day and it would have been nice to sit in an inside common area with other guests. Not a major problem, but certainly a something that affects our rating.

When we arrived at Tides Inn we found a note from Val welcoming us with directions to our room. The note also told us how to find the breakfast room for the morning where Val said she would meet us, if not before. We do appreciate that it is not always possible for the host to meet all their gusts on arrival. There was also contact name and information if we needed anything.

We stayed in the Chinook Suite that we had booked primarily for the views over Duffin Cove but the Suite was better than we had expected. Comfy bed, couple of chairs, small sink in the room with tea and coffee making facilities, refrigerator, walk in wardrobe and good size bathroom and all nicely decorated. The view from the room and the balcony was fantastic.
When we went for breakfast the next morning we were served by a young woman who we decided was not Val. We did not meet Val until our last breakfast after staying 3 nights so we did not really get to experience Val’s hospitality and her local information that other reviewers have commented on.

It was nice sitting at breakfast on a morning chatting with the other guests and enjoying the view.

It felt a little out of town but was in fact only about a 10-15 minute walking to a choice of restaurants but the advantage of this was the peacefulness.

We spend three nights there at the end of August, enjoying the spacious Barnacle room. The room features a very comfortable king bed, large bathroom where I enjoyed a long soak after the drive over the curvy road to Tofino, and a sitting area with a fireplace. Each of the four available rooms had its own deck or balcony, overlooking Duffin Cove, with a stairway down to the pebbly beach. It is also located just a short walk to Tonquin Beach and into the town. The breakfasts Val served were not only delicious but were presented beautifully and we looked forward to something new each morning.
I have already recommended Tides Inn to a friend who will be visiting Tofino, and would certainly stay there again. Lovely setting, delicious food, and the price is reasonable.

This B&B is a bit outside the centre of Tofino (just a 15 minutes walk) but the view is absolutely stunning. There are 4 rooms situated at the ground level of the house. The rooms differ a but in size. We booked the Barnacle room and a another room (with two couples). Al the rooms have private excess. Excellent bathrooms and very good mattress. The rooms have large windows, which can be a bit of a problem for your privacy (windowblinds available) but great for the view.
They have a Jacuzzi to share in there garden, overlooking the Duffin Cove. On the day we arrived the Jacuzzi brooked down but Val (host) made sure that is was fixed next day. The host Val was very friendly and willing to help us with what to do and where to go. There’s not a lot of different choices for breakfast, but if you want something different just ask and Val will see if she’s able to help you.
This B&B is probably not the must luxurious one, but it’s definitely more than just standard and the view is great (did I mention this before). There is even access to a kind of private beach, great to watch sunset. The prices in Tofino are sky high (in comparison to a lot of other places in Canada) so I think this B&B is excellent value for money.
