Dh and I stayed for 4 nights in the room on the left, if facing the 2 rooms. Spacious room, well set up, comfy beds and pillow, bright, airy, fantastic bathroom with 2 person sunken bath next to a window looking out on the middle part of very tall trees (excellent privacy). Well set up for Covid. A small "kitchen", microwave, toaster, fridge, dishes, table, chairs inside and on the balcony. We ate all our meals here (apart from picnic lunches). Breakfast was tasty and on time, either banana pancakes, French toast or delicious eggs, with juice, local bread and a fruit cup. Coffee and tea available in the unit. We even got to try Gabrielle's new muffin recipe (yummy). Gabrielle is friendly, helpful and very lovely. The location is a 10-15 minute walk to "downtown" and a couple minute walk to the Co-op for food and a pizza place, as well as a couple minute walk to Tonquin Beach. A very quiet and private location, with a lovely view from the balcony. Highly recommended by us.

The Blue Bear has all you need for a great stay in Tofino. The room was large enough for two of us with our luggage and had a great sea view with a small balcony to eat outside on sunny days. Gabrielle is a thoughtful and helpful host and cooks a fantastic breakfast! The bath, however is incredible! Large enough for 2 of us sunken and with a view into the trees. A great way to unwind each day after all our activities. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Blue Bear B&B for 3 nights towards the end of our trip to Canada. Gabrielle made us so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a wonderful time. The room was in immaculate condition with all the facilities that we needed. The large sunken bath was a delight and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. We witnessed beautiful sunsets and unbelievably clear night skies. The homemade breakfasts were a treat. Definitely the best placed that we stayed in during our holiday.

Beautiful location overlookingTonquin Bay. The comfiest bed ever, a luxury bathroom, great breakfast, very friendly and helpful hostess. A short walk to Tonquin beach, ten minutes walk into village, with plenty of shops and eateries. We wished we could have stayed longer

My husband and I stayed here for 9 days in June of 2014. The rooms are all well appointed and spacious and immaculate. They all have lovely views. The delicious breakfasts were brought to our room by the wonderful host Gabrielle. I have stayed in many bed and breakfasts but I have yet to find a host more accommodating and helpful than Gabrielle. She really went out of her way for us from asking us breakfast preferences to helping us find restaurants. She made our stay truly memorable.

What a treat! Blue Bear has been for us a trully wonderful B & B experience. We have spent a couple of days in Tofino and tasted a genuine hospitality at Blue Bear.

The location is spectacular, close to the a cliff edge overlooking the ocean and partially surrounded by forest. Serene silence is touched only by birds' chirping or the kee-yep sound from the Bold Eagle resident. You can see him every morning from the comfort of your bed. Wow!
The centre of Tofino is just 10 minutes walk. Tonquin beach with a lovely boardwalk trail is just 5 minute away.

Our room was cozy, charming and ellegant. The bed was so comfortable, we have rested so well.

Gabrielle, the owner of Blue Bear, offered us valuable information about the area, maps and good advise about places to visit. Her breakfasts are so delicious, already we are dreaming to visit Blue Bear soon.

Gabrielle, the owner has clearly put her heart and soul into this B and B as the rooms have everything in you could possible need! I really appreciated all the finishing touches and thoughtful items around the rooms. The breakfasts are made at a time that suits you and can fit around your schedule AND are delicious! A reasonable price, lovely comfy beds, wifi, a warm welcoming host, a prime location, close to the beach, saw a bald eagle outside, 10/10 would visit again.

Stayed here on our first visit to the Tofino area and highly recommended. Host was very friendly and gracious and the room was clean, homey, and comfortable. The B&B is right in the town but away from the main roads and busy areas tucked away near Tonquin Beach. It felt very private, had a great view, and was a very relaxing and peaceful home base. Breakfast was tasty and overall value was great. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here with my sister in July 2011 (date discrepancy from review site as I couldn't go this far back when writing the review - NOTE TO TRIP ADVISOR: don't limit date choices). I usually stay at hotels instead of B&B's - and had just had a rather unpleasant B&B experience in Kelowna, so was not looking forward to this one. This is without a doubt a perfect place. It's an "A" frame style building, with two smaller units on the top floor that share a balcony and a larger accommodation on the main level for larger groups. Our balcony looked out over a garden filled with hummingbirds with a view to the ocean. We could hear a bald eagle in the trees beside the chalet - took a while to find him, but what a sight when we did. After my journey there from Victoria, to sit on the balcony with a lovely glass of wine and watch the sun set over the water - I felt like I was in heaven.
Gabrielle, the proprietor, was lovely. Pleasant and friendly, but not intrusive. She made sure we had what we needed, asked what we wanted for breakfast and what time we'd like it served. It was brought to our room, piping hot and we were able to eat it on the balcony, again enjoying the view. She provided us with extra coffee and invited us to take a cup of it down to Tonquin Beach which is a 3-4 minute walk from the B&B. It's a lovely quiet beach and each morning I walked there and saw maybe 5 people. Most people visiting Tofino go to the bigger beaches as this is a lesser known one - what a treasure it is. Live starfish, sand dollars, eagles flying overhead, and the sound of the surf coming in. Take a beach chair down and just relax if you can.
The Blue Bear is just on the outskirts of Tofino - a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk.
The room itself is lovely - a large queen (king?) bed that's so comfy - and a pull out couch that is just as much so. There's a microwave and mini fridge for guest's convenience and a lovely fireplace. The bathroom is to die for - a wonderful large soaking tub, shower stall and double sink with lots of room for 2 guests - even sisters! Bathrobes are also provided.
Thanks Gabrielle for the wonderful experience. I will be back!
