We felt lucky to get 4 nights at this wonderful inn. Our first two nights we had a larger room on the road side with two twin beds. It was Saturday and we were a little concerned about noise from the roads. Never heard a sound. Slept separately, but slept soundly. After two nights, we moved over to an oceanside room, with a queen bed. The room was a little smaller, but this was really not an issue. There are two bathrooms shared amongst guests, but not once did we ever have to wait for a bathroom. Having the one bathroom downstairs was excellent to use on your way out or just getting back.
There is a covered deck overlooking the ocean that was a wonderful place for a break. We would make coffees in the morning in the shared kitchen and then take them downstairs to the deck and catch the sunrise. We saw a Heron and a kingfisher that were frequent guests and a family of otters playing and a seal. All from the comfort of the deck drinking our morning coffee. Included in our stay was free drip coffee from the cafe. I think we may have abused this, and I apologize now, because I don't think we tipped very often and for the incredible service we received, we really should have. Afternoon coffee was just as pleasant as our morning coffee, and had some wonderful and informative conversations with other guests and with the owner. In the evening, we often brought take out dinners back to the deck. Most restaurants had long wait times, so getting take out and having someplace nice to eat was great.
The location was absolutely perfect. Tofino is such a small town that we could walk everywhere, and using Paddler's Inn for a base was extremely convenient. There was concern about parking, but we never had an issue, and often joked about having our own spot right in front. We saw some of the other hotels as we drove to some of our hikes, but realized that being outside of town, would be really restrictive in our food choices or shopping or wandering the galleries.
The owners were super friendly and accomodating. There were no issues, even with covid protocols, with the shared kitchen or bathrooms. Everything was clean, and sanitizers were available everywhere. We would definitely stay here anytime we visit Tofino.

Lovely hotel. Hands down the best view in Tofino on the covered patio facing the port. Cute little cafe to get some espresso or treats.
John and his team, but especially him are so nice and lovely and kind. Would recommend 1000%

Rooms are very cozy and kitchen is well equipped

Had a beautiful stay here in April 2019. Magical sunsets viewed from the deck. Beautiful room and gorgeous location. Super efficient check in and the café downstairs was a treat. My family had stayed here previously and I’m looking forward to staying here again.

Brilliant location right on the waterfront, we had an amazing view from our room. Comfortable room and decent shared bathroom (only 5 rooms in total, so waiting was never a problem). Really friendly staff, and could book kayaking trips etc in the shop downstairs. Well equipped shared kitchen, with free tea/coffee. Lovely veranda downstairs to sit and watch the wildlife

Very cozy rooms overlooking the harbour. Right downtown and close to everything. Friendly check in. Excellent value for money.

Shared bathrooms were super clean. I was very happy to find this place available in the peak summer season. Would stay again.

We stayed for two nights at this little beautiful hostel and my word what a cosy little gem it is. We felt so good in our room with the amazing view over the harbor. The bed is comfy and spacious and the everything is clean and well-cared. We enjoyed every second. And maybe we will come back if we visit Tofino again.

Room Tip: I would suggest to book in advance. They got six rooms so it will be booked full pretty quick.

We stayed there 4 nights and really enjoyed the view and the possibility to use the kitchen (not very well functionning kitchen though). However it was very noisy, we could pretty much listen to everyone's conversation. 1 bathroom for 5 bedrooms (and a second one downstairs to share with the kayak shop customers) is not enough, especially if the other guests take their time...

Basically since you share everything with the other guests, your experience will very much depend on whether you are lucky and stay with cautious people or not.

Staying at Tofino’s Paddler’s Inn is a good choice when visiting this nice coastal city. The inn is very well located, has a nice waterfront view for certain of the rooms (choose wisely when selecting online, we had room 3) and the downstairs area for coffee in the morning.

The rooms are of good quality, very clean, and quite comfortable. The welcome package includes indications on where to park in Tofino, as this is not extremely easy to understand for visitors.

Only drawback is that we did not get to interact much with our hosts during our 2-nights stay in Tofino.

This hostel has several rooms with the showers and lavatories shared and a kitchen and dining area over looking the bay. Our rooms were comfortable and clean as were the kitchen and bathrooms. There is tea and coffee supplied in the kitchen and though the pots and pans had been over used in the past, they still worked fine. I enjoyed sitting in the dining room and reading when unable to sleep (insomniac). The staff were all very helpful and friendly - going out of their way when we had problems with our whale watching tour. Ours was cancelled but Liam found another one that was going instead. Thank you, Liam. Clean, safe, comfortable and very affordable - for Tofino. I recommend it.

Stayed in a double bedroom overlooking the water for 3 nights in March 2015.

Good - Position in town. It is a lovely building right on the water with great views, nice to sit in the morning having breakfast watching the kayakers and seaplanes.
Slept very well, the beds are on the softer side and the sheets were new.
All the guests were very quiet after 2200 each night.
Parking. Always easy to find a spot nearby.
Free tea and coffee available and a kitchen to store breakfast things in the 'fridge.

Bad- Tofino is a pricey town and although this was one of the more reasonable accommodations for what is offered in the area at around $110 a night (incl tax), i find this to be rather expensive for a very basic room. It is essentially a youth hostel.

Ugly- The walls are paper thin which would have been an issue if other guests had not been mindful of others. You could hear a normal conversation in the next room very clearly. I would not reccommend this property at all for families with young children unless you were to book out the whole inn.

Overall a nice, clean hostel in a good central position.

As an add-on, Tofino brewery was superb, as were Red Can and Wolf in the Fog restaurants. Tacofino is very tasty indeed. Shelter was very average.
