We paid for 2 nights and left after 1. The inn itself was quaint, and the area was picturesque. Great idea to have puzzles in the common area. However, the owner's comment they operate the inn like a family was, unfortunately, not a joke. The stated rule that using the shower should not happen after 12 am, became a lecture...

During our recent trip to Canada. we planned for a four day weekend on Vancouver Island. However, from NZ, we had been unaware that it happened to be labour day weekend. Hence, accommodation opportunity was limited when we tried to make arrangements. We planned to hire a car and sought a central location. Nanaimo seemed to fit the bill. We...

Wow! This is an incredible B&B owned by Fran and Neil. Huge full breakfasts made to order by Fran. Delicious evening snack of home made pastries. Generous hospitality. They have two bedrooms with a common area where one can have tea and coffee. Outdoor enclosed patio with sofa, table and chairs. The garden has blackberries, raspberries, apple , plum &...

If you want to feel home and welcomed, this is the place to stay. Very clean, very friendly and very accommodating. A little bit more and I would start moving things around, eating in bed and leaving my towels on the floor. This is probably what people mean when they talk about "home away from home". Just relax and enjoy.

I stayed at this guesthouse for 2 nights and I was delighted, I felt really AT HOME. It's extremely clean and well taken care of, in the middle of a dream scenery, and easily accessible on foot from the ferry terminal. The owners are some of the nicest people I've ever met during my many travels and I extremely enjoyed...

We had a very nice time in this guesthouse. The house and the guests facilities are beautiful and very clean. The location nearby the ferry terminal was very convenient for our travel plans. And our hosts were just great. It was very nice to spend the evening talking and chating with Neil while Fran was serving us her deliciuos home...

We stayed for one night in this horrible basement room which smelled so bad. The bathroom I refused to use because it looked like from centuries ago. It was dark and very strange. The worse of all was the smell of old people which intoxicated us and we were therefore not able to sleep. I had to spray a towed...

It's sure upsetting to read such a negative review. The word Beach is found in many titles and we feel a mistake has been made. This year all of our visitors have been sent from Booking.com where we have been rated 9.2 out of 10. Booking .com will only publish reviews from people that they have sent, whether good or...

Its hard to put into adequate words what our experience at Beach Estates Inn was like but I will do my best. My husband and I are from Calgary and we stayed at Beach Estates for 4 nights. The rooms are clean, quiet, and homey. We shared a bathroom but that was not an issue because it was only with...

We booked "Beach Estates Inn" in Nanaimo, B.C. on the recommendation of another B & B operator. We booked it for 5 days and paid for 1 upon arrival. The first thing the owner did was to insult where we were from (Alberta), he stated that, "We hate Albertans". Our daughters were very uncomfortable with the owner as were we....

I was very upset when I read the review from Okotoksdoug. I feel his review was very unfair. When he and his family made the reservation we gave them 2 rooms for 4 people for 5 nights for $400.00 total. This was to help another B and B owner as she couldn't accomodate them on the dates they wanted so...

Very nice house; immaculate and the view of Departure Bay is beautiful. I was in the Casablanca room with a very comfortable double bed; chest of drawers; closet; side tables and huge windows out to the garden. You do share the bathroom w the other guest-room, but I was the only one there :-) Regardless, sharing a bathroom is not...
