Hotel has a great location and offers great value. Rooms have a good size are modern and often offer guests a little personal touch. Staff is very friendly and continental breakfast comes in handy. Hotel is also pet friendly.

My hockey teams have been staying at the Thompson for a few years, and since my wife and I are team managers every year we book back at the Thompson on every opportunity.
This past weekend was phenomenal. They have updated the lounge so that our team's players were fully entertained while the parents socialized and watched the Battle of Alberta on the nice leather couches.
The breakfast was good. The place was very team team friendly. The staff were courteous and professional. We didn't have a single issue in 13 rooms.

In the past we booked the conference room for pizza, but this time we had the entire games room to ourselves so we ate there.

This is not a brand-new hotel, but they are also not uptight and you don't feel like you have to keep your children at arms length the entire time.

There are a couple options very close by for food and craft beer. There is also a liquor store a short walk away. Save On is a bit further down the block, and Starbucks next to there.

It is quite close to the old arena, fairly close to the Blazers big arena, and about a ten minute drive to McArthur Island's complex.

Their office staff is excellent. If you are looking for a team booking, look no further.

The Rocky Mountaineer Train had provided this accommodation during it's journey break halfway between Banff and Vancouver. So we ( me & my wife ) sort of stayed for the post afternoon hours and one night only. The room allotted to us was spacious with two Queen sized beds. The Room was clean and had a TV, Microwave Oven,Electric Kettle,Electric Press,Press Board & Coffee machine etc.For drinking Tap water was used . The Hotel boasts of a Swimming Pool,Theatre Room & Conference Room. The staff is courteous. We had a good sleep and were provided breakfast in the train so did not taste the Hotel's preparations.

I had a one night stay booked at this hotel with breakfast included.
Initially it was difficult to find as on a main road and the entrance to the car park was not clear, ended up parking around the corner and walking over for the information.
Greeted by lovely reception staff who gave us the information about the room, pool etc. As the restaurant had short opening times we decided to eat in the town (which I went on to find was the best idea).
Lovely comfortable large room with queen size beds (Canadian hotels do not have family rooms with twin beds), fridge available in the room and kettle.
The pool was a large one so able to have a good swim with a separate hot tub, we found out late evening that they also have a BBQ for residents outside by the pool.
The included breakfast was were the hotel let themselves down, the room was like a small cafe with no natural light and food doesn't even deserve one star, you could choose to pay for the breakfast if not included but I would not recommend, it was bland luke warm with little choice of drinks as out of stock.

Stayed one night as part of a tour group. Large room with a fridge, kettle, Hairdryer, Iron & Ironing board. Not enough power sockets in the room for the 21st century and no USB ports. The sockets they did have were quite inaccessible. I had to crawl around under the desk to get to them.
Breakfast room was far too small for the amount of guests. There was a limited selection. I'm guessing our tour operator didn't pay enough to warrant a proper breakfast offering but having to eat & drink off of paper plates & cups using plastic cutlery? Come on!!!!!
The jewel in the crown for the hotel has to be the Brew pub attached which had a great selection of beers etc and lovely food.

The outside of the hotel seems not that great but once inside, it’s good. It’s very clean, rooms are pretty good and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were super friendly as well.
What I didn’t like was the amount of noise. There was a hockey team staying on the same floor and must have had an early game. At 6am the doors started opening and closing and this went on for over an hour. You could also hear the voices in the hall.
The garbage trucks came by early and were also noisy. If you are a light sleeper then I would suggest ear plugs.
Parking spots are tricky. If you have a bigger vehicle you will have a tight fit.
Brewery right across the driveway is a bonus!!

Like many we stayed here for one night as part of a 2 day trip on The Rocky Mountaineer, big shout out here to hotel housekeeping team as having so many one night stays doesn`t make life any easier.
Our stay co-incided with a group of high school students staying as well, on the coach trip in we`d learnt that Kamloops has built up a reputation as `Tournament City` with lots of purpose built sports pitches and facilities to attract this market. Well done to the local city council and well done to the group of students staying in the rooms surrounding ours for going to bed at 11 and staying quiet....
We spent a pleasant few hours in The Noble Pig Brewhouse next door without realising it was part of the hotel, well done for creating such a destination pub
There is a 99.99% chance that I will never return to Kamloops in my lifetime but if I did I`d stay here again

I booked the hotel last minute and was hesitant after I read the reviews, but for our purposes and needs, this hotel was very good, with my managed expectations. I knew there was no lobby bar or brand new decor, but for a solo parent with a very active child, we had everything we needed for a few days here. The rooms were well equipped, the bed comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, the small convenience store thrilled my son with a lot of fun candy options, there was a small fridge and microwave and the breakfast options were very budget friendly for a quick breakfast. My son (8) loved the arcade and quickly made friends in the pool, where we spent a ton of time. There was a small outdoor area that some people used to barbeque hotdogs for their soccer team. All the staff we encountered were lovely and helpful. In my view it is perfect affordable venue for young families. We will be back! My only complaint really is the covered parking needs a good cleaning, a power wash once in a while would make a big difference! Thanks for a great stay.

Staff very nice. Room was nice modern and clean. Pool and games room are fun. Restaurants at hotel and nearby are good.

This is an older hotel so don't expect so expect greatness.

The exterior could use some TLC and a security or cleaning patrol would be wise as there is alot of construction activity nearby and loitering and litter. Many lights in parking lot not working etc.

I would be fine staying again as we had a good time.

Its a fun place

First, the good….
The staff is very polite and helpful. The rooms are nice and clean. Our view to the river was stunning.
The lower price per room reflects that, while clean and functional, the rooms could use an update- especially the bathrooms.
The BAD….
The food in the hotel is not good. In fact, our evening meal was the worse meal we’ve had in a long time. Nothing seemed fresh. My fish was over cooked and the seasonal vegetables tasted like they’d been previously frozen. The ribs were so full of girasol they were inedible. My husband got approximately a tablespoon of meat after spending 15 minutes trying to cut through the ribs. The kind waitress offered to make my husband another meal but why bother? The quality of the food wasn’t going to improve and we knew he would have to send a second meal back. So, we didn’t make a fuss.
The morning buffet was disappointing. We’ve seen complimentary buffets with fresher /more appealing selections.Fortunately we inspected it beforehand and went elsewhere in Kamloops.
Also, better snack options are needed in the canteen area as Halloween sized chips don’t cut it when you are hungry
It’s too bad our dining experiences were so bad because this is a charming hotel. A solid 4 if you don’t plan to eat there.
