Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very popular hotel and conference centre for trade events. Staff were helpful. Rooms are a bit dingy and need a refresh as the decor, carpets and fixtures are stuck in the 80s. The hotel is a bit humid as the atrium has a lot of tropical plants.

Comfy beds, quiet rooms, great location, price is comparable to the rest of Kamloops for a nice hotel. Will definitely stay again if we need a hotel in Kamloops! Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating.

Romeos restaurant so so so good. Olivia our waitress was awesome - so attentive and friendly. Butternut squash ravioli and beef were awesome and of course the wine flights were great! Definitely returning!

Overall the hotel was nice. The staff were great, the pool was nice, restaurant good food. The problem we had was with the room itself. We had room 135 king suite and while the room was ok, the bed was so caved in the middle that neither of us had a good sleep. So after a horrible sleep we woke to have a shower but had zero water pressure and what little water we had was barely Luke warm. When checking out we let the front desk agent know and she did say we could have asked to switch rooms but we didn’t realize the shower problem till the morning when we were leaving, and we should have switched with the bed problem but really didnt have the energy to move rooms in the middle of the night. I hope something gets done about that room or they should not be renting it out.

We thought we checked into the Caribbean when we walked from the lobby to find our room - the internals were like being on a warm, sunny holiday with lots of water features, airy and light, lifting the mood! The pool was also on this level which seemed a little strange but, great for families. Lovely staff, comfortable rooms and free parking, but disappointing we weren't able to sample the restaurant which was full.

The room I stayed in smells like dog, even though it’s a dog room I would think that I should be cleaned and disinfected correctly but that doesn’t look like that happens here ! The place is actually very disgusting, the hallway carpets are filthy and stained, the shower has black mold, I took a stroll around the property to take in the Kamloops scenery and the hotel grounds are absolutely disgusting! I will never stay here again and who ever manages this dumpster should be ashamed and possibly reeducated on how to run a hotel.

Stayed here for one night this past week as part of a tour package. We were met by soiled and stained carpets throughout all of the hallways we were in. It made you wonder what your room was going to look like and not in a good way. We got to our assigned room and upon entering the carpet was stained as well, the furniture old and worn and the bed mattress was pretty well canoed. Needless to say this was unaceptable. We requested another room and were brought to the other side of the hotel courtyard area and were met by carpets in the same condition. Fortunately, the room was in much better condition than our first and we found it acceptable for the night. I'm not sure if one side of the hotel is newer or remodeled than the other, perhaps that was the difference, but the hallways in both sides of the hotel were equally soild and stained. I would definitely not stay here again and was a little surprised our tour brought us here. They need to do an inspection and see what they have representing them. There appears to be a lot of hotels in Kamloops, I have to believe some are in better condition.

I'm here at the Coast not by choice as it's the one a travel agent for my union selected. I've stayed at the Coast Coal Harbour many times and thought it would.be just as good. I was wrong. The hotel room is very dark and very noisy. I can hear my neighbor showering right now. I don't know how someone who is as light a sleeper as ne is going to survive two days here. Then there are the laughably small.pillows on the ved. Two tiny pillows were out and I found two more. All are very limp will probably provide very little support. Have I mentioned the lack of easily accessible electrical outlets? Its a challenge to charge a phone and my laptop without searching for an outlet. And then I had to unplug the alarm clock so I could plug in my CPAP machine by the bed. Every other hotel I've been to in the last 10 year has lamps with plug ins in them which makes so much more sense. I can't switch hotels because I'm not paying for my room but I will ask for other options if I ever have to travel to Kamloops on business again.

I did not really want to write a review as I was just here one night with a Rocky Mountaineer train trip, but what an awful hotel the Rocky Mountaineer team put their guests in. From the moment you walk into the room, it is dark and clearly a dirty room that is many years past, needing a complete overhaul. The timer used to run the bathroom fan makes so much noise in the actual room itself that it is impossible to use as it is just way too loud. Look at the video below to see (video attached). There is mold on the bathroom wall, wallpaper clearly falling off the bathroom wall, and a bathroom fan that is impossibly dirty (see photo). How is this not cleaned, and why done the Rocky Mountaineer train folks put their guests here? Dirt and falling baseboards in the main area of the room (see photo). For the gym, you need to go to the gym, but can't actually get in the gym as the sign states you need to get a key for the gym at the front desk, on the opposite side of their hotel. Then, when you get to the gym at 5:05 am they share they will not open the gym till 6 am. When I shared my train to the bus had to leave at 6 am they simply stated that they had to follow the rules and would not open before that time. When I shared I just wanted to work out, they really did not care and shared that their rule would guide their effort here, not a guest who simply wanted to use the gym for a few minutes. Then there were pizza boxes and plates at different doors throughout the evening. I checked in around 7pm and left at 6am and the empty pizza boxes and plates were in the hallway from 7 pm to 6 am. So, since they will not allow anyone to work out at their gym in the morning, I am writing this note instead. Never should that have been an option for any guests, and certainly not one of Rocky Mountain's guests with the gold line service. There are many fine hotels in town, this one needs a complete and total overall for cleanliness, complete lack of upkeep, and terrible customer service.

Stayed here overnight as part of the Rocky Mountaineer. Staff were uninterested both at checkin and the restaurant. Location means it's too far to walk anywhere. I'm glad it was just 1 night. The room was nice, clean, and tidy. OK for 1 night, but I wouldn't recommend a longer stay.
