If this is your only hotel option, change your travel date or cancel your trip. We made a last minute choice to take a trip to Vancouver Island, not realizing at first that it was a holiday weekend. This was our only option left in Duncan proper, so we booked it. This was a mistake. The woman who greeted us at the front desk was very nice. That is the only positive I can name about this motel. The stairs to the second floor were in disrepair and close to unsafe. The wood on the second floor walkway had spots of serious rot that were unsafe. The room itself…wow. Not clean (floor hadn’t been swept). Missing lightbulbs. Some kind of self-adhesive vinyl flooring had been DIY installed, leaving massive gaps and holes. The bathroom was barely functional and extremely worn. In retrospect we should have had the common sense of another reviewer and asked to see the room before registering and paying. We didn’t. Do not spend money to stay here.…

I stayed here in May with my family for a night. It was perfect! The room was clean and comfortable and had a kitchenette and bathroom. The staff were lovely and friendly. The staff posted my AirPods after I left them behind, wish was really good of them!

Whether you are looking to lay low while on the lam or just a quiet place to smoke some crack - the Falcon Nest has something for everyone! Start out by booking a double room, upon arrival you’ll marvel at the single room you get instead for a higher price. Other features and amenities include: A semi-functional toilet, complete with authentic crack burns The tv lovingly perched on top of the refrigerator A grand view of the back alley overlooking the neighbourhood "wellness" center and a condemned duplex. Colorful characters strewn about the parking lot will give you more company than you bargained for. A shower that gives the illusion of being peed on Not a lamp or overhead light to be found? No problem, the oven light will give off all the lighting you will need. After all, the less you can see, the better! No AC? Don’t worry, a great cross breeze can be achieved by opening the window and the door, allowing your neighbours to walk in on you while you’re changing. Need I say more? The falcon nest motel, look for it in Duncan along the highway tucked away just behind the McDonald’s. If you happen to miss it (and you will) google maps will send you in circles while constantly telling you you’ve arrived, no matter how far away you drive. Nothing says “well designed” like a full kitchen but no table or chairs. Stay as long as you like, the cops won’t be finding you here. Just make sure housekeeping fishes all the bodies out of the pool before you dive in. If you survive your stay, you might even get your picture added to their wall of luckiest guests!…

I don’t know how this place can have any 4 star rating...NOT even close! I’d give it a zero stat if i could! Hole in the wall, plumbing not working, missing lightbulbs, sketchy clientele, dirty exterior. Did not feel safe either...

I recently had to find a hotel for a friend who we had to put up until he got a bed up in Nanaimo. He ended up with 3 ambulance calls in a row at the motel, only to get discharged until the last call where they found an abscess on his brain. Doug was extremely empathetic and kind, instead of kicking him out because brain patients wander, etc. He was worried more about my friend (who ended up having emergency brain surgery last Friday) than his hotel or business. He said to me when I thanked him that he was a humanitarian. It’s clean and simple, but sweet and has a lovely pool. I can’t thank Doug and his family enough because they had to help my friend quite a bit as I found out. Above and beyond. I highly recommend this hotel if you just want a simple clean and well priced place Sarah Abbott…

We spent one night on our way to the airport in Victoria. The owner/manager was helpful in directing us to a nearby restaurant for dinner. The motel provided basic accommodation with a comfortable bed.

Full confession: we did not stay at this motel. We booked it based on the reviews we read and the price. When we arrived we asked to see our room before we checked in. We were traveling with our dog so we were given the keys to their ‘pet friendly’ room. It was sparse to say the least. It was clean. A double bed in the room, one chair and little else. The room had not been updated in a long time. We usually look for good value motels but they need to have a few amenities, perhaps a picture on the wall, bedside tables and lamps. This room did not meet these standards so I went back to the front desk and informed the manager that we would not be staying there. He accepted the key back without argument and we were on our way. We did find a room at a nearby motel at minimally more cost and with much nicer decor. If all you are looking for is a bare-bones room at a modest price this motel would be fine. There are better deals to be had elsewhere however.…

So last minute we needed a place. It was late. Called and one room left. Very skeptical with rate so inexpensive and everywhere else filled (except Super 8 and another one with bad rating) Wow! Well we arrived such friendly owner operators! The room was comfy and had kitchenette too ☺️ Definitely recommend. Not fancy but clean, comfortable and more than adequate.
