When looking to make a reservation for the Jasper leg of our BC driving tour we turned toTripAdvisor (as usual) but found the reviews for hotels a bit mixed and nothing stood out. This prompted us to look at the B&B's which is something we have not done before. Here we found a different story with many of the properties receiving excellent reviews. We choose All Seasons Accommodations.

Fellow Brits should understand that a B&B in Canada is nothing like the stereotype B&B in the UK. The ones we experienced on this trip were of a very high quality and our understanding is that this is the norm. We learned that an 'accommodation' is actually a step down from a B&B in that it is a room/suite in a private house. This one did not serve breakfast.

On the basis of excellent TripAdvisor reviews we certainly didn't feel we were taking a risk in staying here but even so we were very pleasantly surprised by what we found. It was really very nice indeed and ideally situated in a residential street, one block from Jasper Main Street. Our room was the Maligne Suite which as other reviewers have said, had a private entrance, a comfortable queen bed and an ensuite WC/shower. There was also a microwave, fridge and tea coffee making facilities. Everything was spotlessly clean. We actually quite liked not having breakfast as it gave us added flexibility to follow the advice of other reviewers and use the Bears Paw bakery. Everything that has been said about it is true.

We are also very glad to endorse the glowing references others have given to the excellent hostess Gaetanne who told us everything we needed to know about Jasper and the surrounding area.

For dinner try Karuso's which is opposite the railway station - we did and we liked it.

We also very much liked Jasper - a smallish town with a really nice feel about it, and an excellent base for exploring the Jasper National Park. Watch out for the wildlife, you are very likely to see elk, deer, and a bear if you are lucky - we were.

To conclude, we have no hestiation in highly recommending All Seasons Accommodations.

We came to the tripadvisor.com site to find a place to stay and we tried 3 of them ---- all booked for our stay in mid-August.

One of them recommended we stay at the All Seasons Accommodations at 708 Patricia Street in Jasper.

Location: Couldn't have been better. One block from downtown Jasper which has a great shopping and restaurant area. We were very pleased.

Room: I was very pleasantly surprised. The picture on the website is not attractive. We had a ground floor room and we didn't notice traffic noise (there wasn't much traffic for being one block from downtown area). We had a private entrance. Bathroom was clean - good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The cost was $85/night (Canadian) which included tax, but not breakfast. Queen size bed was comfortable and the room had a TV and refrigerator. Room was clean.

Our hostess was superb. She helped us get a reservation for dinner and led us the right direction in planning our day.

We would definitely stay here again. Great value and convenient.

All Seasons is a "private home accommodation" in Jasper. Jasper has more visitors than hotel rooms, so homes in town rent out rooms at a reasonable price. We found this to be a great alternative to an expensive hotel room and we would definately stay at All Seasons again. However, it is important that you know what your are booking. It is not a hotel (bring your own soap and shampoo- We didn't have soap, and our hostess gave us a bar, but I would bring my own in the future since I think it is expected. There was liquid hand soap and dishwashing soap in the room) It is not a Bed and Breakfast (although our bed was extremely comfortable, no breakfast was included- this is the "norm" in private home accommodations) However, at $85.00 a night, we found our room to be an excellent value. (we priced a hotel room at one of the less expensive hotels in town that we had stayed at previously-$175 for a room with no windows and it went up from there.) I personally liked it better than a bed and breakfast since they tend to be as expensive as hotels here in the states.

Our Room: We stayed in the Maligne room and it was wonderful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The pictures on the web site do not do it justice. It has its own private entrance and many nice amenities like a refrigerator, microwave, cable tv, and most importantly a comfortable bed. Our hostess did tidy our room each morning which I honestly had not expected with a private home stay. It was appreciated. Parking was available right outside the home on the street, and the owners were very kind in letting us park our bikes in their back yard. We found this room to be as comfortable and private as some the nicest hotels we have stayed at.

Our hostess: Gaetanne was very friendly and helpful. In addition to giving us a brochure on the best restaurants in town, she also gave us advice on the best hikes and where to mountain bike. When you stay in a private home accommodation, you are staying with someone who lives in Jasper and is very familiar with the area. Gaetanne was a very useful resource.

Location: We were less than a block from the beginning of the downtown area. Jasper is small, and you can walk from one end of town to the other, However, after a long day of mountain biking and hiking, we were grateful to be so close to town. Even though we were right next to the downtown area, the street was quiet and we never had our sleep disturbed.

Overall, we were extremely happy with our choice. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Jasper. One more bit of advice: these private home accommodations are very popular and filled up every night we were there. I highly recommend booking in advance and as early as you can. Especially if you want one as nice as All Seasons.

For more information on Private Home Accommodations in general and All Seasons in particular see the website stayinjasper.com Since every home is different, I can only speak about All Seasons-and I would recommend it and would stay there again for sure.

Our stay in the Maligne suite was very enjoyable. We arrived late on the train from Prince George and walked from the station, Gaetanne was not home but had left detailed instructions and requested I telephone her on my arrival using the phone in the room. The room was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable for two people.

We had great communications with any queries and Gaetanne was so welcoming, friendly and helpful on our arrival and throughout our 3 night stay. We had the Maligne room which was perfect for 2 and very clean and well equipped. Great walk-in large shower and we were kindly loaned a hair dryer. We had our own door so it was like a little apartment and we could've easily stayed a week or more here. It's very quiet yet within a few minutes walk of all Jasper's restaurants, shops etc. I highly recommend it, the photos don't actually do it justice. We loved Jasper and hope to return one day and if we do we'll stay here for sure.

Was expecting a nice stay at All Seasons and was not disappointed. Lovely hosts were more than willing share recommendations for sightseeing and dining options and were extremely responsive if there were any requests. Location is right in town. We stayed in the Maligne Room and it is a basement unit. It is dark with little natural light so if this would bother you, this isn't the place you'd like. The only suggestion would be to recommend a few more inexpensive amenities -- paper towels, Kleenex, new upgraded linens. But overall, it was a nice stay.

We have been staying here since 2006 and visited again in June of this year. We absolutely love staying here as it is very homely and Gaetanne makes you feel very welcome. This year we stayed in the Beauvert Suite but we have stayed in both suites, the accommodation is spotlessly clean and cannot be faulted in any way. Location is fab being only a stones throw away from the centre of Jasper and is very good value for money compared to comparable accommodation in Jasper. Free wireless internet connection was excellent.

We would recommend this accommodation to anyone and will definitely be going back in the future.

This place without doubt is the best place I've stayed in years!
The hosts and their children are lovely, the location perfect in every way. Just off the edge of the shopping/business area means that its a 30 second walk to the nearest resturant and it's a wonderfully quiet.

The room was clean, modern, fantastic shower and bathroom, with your own private entrance, it was really an appartment rather than a B&B.

If I was returning to Jaspa I wouldn't even bother to look for anwhere else, can't really think of a single improvement!

The location was perfect - just a stroll from the main street and close to restaurants and Tourist Information.

The accommodation was spacious, clean and the hosts friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the suite with 2 bedrooms and it was a pleasure to spread out a bit after 2 weeks in hotel rooms.

There were facilities for making coffee and a microwave too, but to be honest it wouldn't have been easy to manoeuvre dishes in the tiny area set aside by the sink. However, it would have been possible to heat up something simple if we had needed to.

Two things I would like to make people aware of; the suite was down a flight of stairs which would be difficult to manage with a suitcase or two if you were not fit, and because it was virtually a basement suite it was a little on the dark side. This could certainly be an advantage during hot weather, but it doesn't offer much daylight generally and there is certainly not a view!

I would still be happy to stay there again if I visit Jasper, as it was excellent value for money in an expensive area of Canada.
