You cannot beat the Whistlers Inn for its location in Jasper. You are right in the middle of everything. Really pleased that when we checked in we managed to get a parking spot and didn't have to park off site even though I think they reimburse you any costs for parking. We stayed for 3 nights in a room overlooking Connaught Drive and we had no issues with road noise. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was a little dated but had everything you needed with a really good shower. House keeping was done every day which was much better than some of the higher rated hotels we stayed in that are still only cleaning rooms on the 3rd day. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. There is a really good bar just off the reception area.

Lovely hotel in a perfect Jasper location. Within walking distance of all restaurants. Easy drive to Jasper National Park where there are great hiking trails and beautiful scenery
Our room was clean comfortable spacious with a fabulous view of the mountains
Staff were wonderful
1 restaurant and 1 pub attached to the lobby
The only downside is the hotel offers free parking. There are 12 parking spaces and over 50 rooms so if you don’t get a space you are on your own to shuffle your vehicle around

Great location for leaving Rocky Mountaineer - literally across the street from the platform, you can see it as the train pulls into the station, 2 mins easy with the cases. Zero mins to town! Stayed 2 nights. Reception area & corridors very drab, reception staff totally disinterested in guests. But room itself was OK, clean and quiet. So we'd stay again especially for location. Dining room is now closed unfortunately.

Whistler’s Inn could not be more perfectly located in Jasper. If you want to be in the city, this is the ideal spot as it is smack in the middle of all of the shops and restaurants. The location on Miette is right by the main avenues of Connaught and Patricia.

The hotel is older and not modern but clean, tidy, cosy, and well appointed. We had a suite with a pullout bed and I was quite pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the bed - and it came premade with clean linens so I didn’t even have to handle that part in the evening. We quickly got extra blankets and towels when we needed them, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Suites also come with dedicated parking. Notably, unlike most hotels in Jasper, Whistler’s has AC - which was a lifesaver during the heatwave. Highly recommend!

This hotel has a premium location on the main street right next to the Jasper Park Administration Building. We stayed in a corner suite and it was very spacious with a living room and a large bathroom . Beds are amazing , sink-in soft with nice linens. Two cute but smallish hot tubs on the rooftop . Staff is so genuine, they act like they're family. This facility is older with older style wood furniture and possibly original wood finishing on the doors and trim but still a joy to stay at.

On the plus side it was in the center of Jasper and the beds were comfortable. On the minus, there were approx 200 rooms serviced by 7 car park spaces. Also it advertised feather pillows and I am unaware of which bird grows latex feathers. The worst thing was the breakfast, which was supposed to be available in the restaurant, which only opened on weekends for such. The day menu on offer was mostly overpriced, bland looking stuffed pasta. Not a hint of a pizza or lasagna for what was supposed to be an Italian restaurant. We also found out that this place has a wildlife museum in the basement, which we were not told about and is presumably closed, like every other amenity. This is off the list for us now.

We are sorry that you felt this way however a) we have 64 rooms that in a normal year would accommodate mostly guests arriving by coach or by train b) we have 12 on-site parking stalls and clearly state that we have limited first-come,first-served on-site parking c) the restaurant is separately owned and operated and their hours of operation and menu are not controlled by the hotel d) in order to comply with government requested COVID-19 restrictions, amenities that do not allow for proper physical distancing or potential cross-contamination by unrelated parties have been closed or removed from rooms. This allows us to operate safely for our staff and patrons We hope that you will visit Jasper again when circumstances have become "normal" or "normalized"

TL;DR: clean rooms, great location, terrible customer service (Keith), unwillingness to improve (Vanessa), street parking on your own (paid by the hotel), old mattress, too expensive for what it offers

We were initially surprised to learn that they reserve the on premises parking spots to the suite guests. This wasn’t specified anywhere when we booked. Because it was raining, this was very upsetting as we only found a spot on the street 3 blocks away. Keith, the receptionist, was very rude from the start and couldn’t care less about the situation. They had suites available at the time so a parking spot on the building was available, but he kept saying it was full. At one point he even mentioned that he couldn’t give us the spot because he didn’t want to be yelled at later, in a passive aggressive tone. The only thing he asked is if we were willing to pay the difference and get a suite instead. When we asked to see the manager he said no one was on site at the time and that was it. It was the worst customer service I’ve seen.
Checking more reviews later on revealed that this is a recurring problem, along with other issues we noticed as well. Considering that the general manager Vanessa has been in charge for over 26 years, it looks like they don’t really care about it and know that guests will show up regardless because Jasper is a hot destination
The room is decent, old, but clean (the carpet could use some renovation as it’s very stained). A lot of noise can be heard, both from the street and inside the hotel.
If you enjoy cuddling, the mattress will be perfect for you, as it is so deformed that you and your partner will always fall to the center together
Location is awesome, short walk distance to pretty much anywhere of interest in the city

Thank you for sharing your opinions. We regret that like many other places, staff can be reactive to the way that they are treated, particularly when it comes to parking and other things that they have no control over. All our listings clearly indicate that there is no parking on-site and with the onset of Municipal parking fees, we chose to minimize inconvenience to guests by paying for parking off-site. All guests choosing to book directly with the hotel are informed that only Suites are guaranteed on-site parking as it is a perk of choosing an upgraded room. When a suite is still available, guests that wish to park on-site are offered the opportunity to pay a higher rate as this keeps it fair and equitable between guests. When people are rude or unkind in response to this information, the staff do their best to remain helpful and professional but are not expected to tolerate abuse of any kind from anyone. With respect to your other concerns, room and facility renovations are scheduled on an ongoing basis according to need, budget and timing that works with room availability and other factors. I am sorry that you felt that I do not care about these things and that you felt that I should have been available at all points of your stay. Thankfully, the owners of the hotel do not share your opinion and have been supportive of my desire to maintain a work-life balance where I can remain a supportive and present parent for my children.

Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Room was spacious, nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. Hotel has a restaurant and a pub and some parking space on the back side of the hotel. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area, but I was surprised how crowded Jasper is compared to the other places on my road trip. The Asian people at the hotel (which were a lot) were rude and very impatiant. Yet the staff remained calm and friendly. Overal this was a nice place to stay in and I felt at home here. I didn't use the rooftop hottub because it was closed ( i think it closes at 9 pm)

We stayed here 2 weekends ago as a family of 3, including my toddler. We enjoyed the private hot tub booking with a view of the mountains for each night of our stay. We felt safe with the cleaning protocols they have in place. I also had to work from my computer for a few hours during our stay and their stable internet connection did not disappoint. I also appreciated the fact that this is right on downtown.

Even if the room was located right in front of the train station, there was no noise that bothered us. It was scenic actually, to have a view of the train, railway and rocky mountains at the same time from the room. A bonus was we saw 3 elks cross the park at the side of the hotel on our first night and it was truly an awesome sight for my toddler!

We're happy that this hotel was a part of our amazing family trip and we definitely recommend it for your stay in Jasper!

Stayed here back to back weeks. Sunday July 4 then Sat/Sun July 10/11. I love this little hotel. Yes it is dated but it kinda adds to it’s charm. It is in a prime downtown Jasper location making walking anywhere perfect. The beds are super comfy. The staff is very pleasant. I actually called the manager Vanessa after our first stay to let her know and re book. (always call the hotel directly to book we got scammed with a google online booking the first time.). Vanessa let me know she will match online booking prices and sometimes offer a discount.

There is a great pub that we closed down the first stay! A Smitty’s restaurant for affordable food or breakfast food and a fine dining Italian restaurant all in the hotel.

Plus there are 2 roof top hot tubs letting you relax while taking in the sights of the Rocky Mountains!!
