Extra CAD $18 charged for 3rd guest. No trash bins kept in kitchen area and the only 1 thats present is in the bathroom and is too tiny for you to trash any by-products if you cook in the kitchen with provided utensils.

No keys are given to guests to the outside door. Instead, instructions are placed not to lock the outer door shared by multiple guests, staying 1 per room. So if anyone accidentally locks the outer doors, the other guests will be stranded outside the house in the cold. Also, the electricity in 1 of the guest rooms had tripped and there was no contact person available to help fix it in time. All in all, the land lady just appeared at check-out time to collect the extra cash for 3rd person without showing any hospitality. Would not recommend this place at all.

It'll be better if atleast breakfast is provided as part of the stay.

The damp towels stayed damp and unchanged. It's very difficult to climb the steps to the front door and then down to the basement if you have heavy or large luggage. In addition, the two of us got one teabag to share for the two days we were there. The filter coffee, however, was good quality. All this for $150 a night.

The first impression was that no one was at home to meet us. We were three couples who rented three rooms in February to visit in September. We had no idea that you had to go up and downstairs to get to the rooms. One of the rooms had no heating since it was controlled from another room. Very poor customer service and when we asked for a receipt we realized that the rooms had all been charged to our credit card immediately after we booked it with no receipt ever being sent to us. We felt very much left to our own fate in this unfamiliar place. No towels in one of the rooms and dirty towels in another.
Would definitely not recommend it. The owner owns a very nice restaurant very close but she is there all the time and the home is quite abandoned.

What a gem in Jasper. After a great day of exploring the beauty of Alberta, we rolled into town. The rental is on a quiet residential street with parking. We were warmly welcomed. The room is spacious, well appointed and clean. The bed was very comfy and the rental was a 2 min walk to downtown. Great value for what we paid in comparison to other places we looked and would stay there again.

My husband and I stayed in one of the basement rooms this past weekend. We had found the accommodation on-line and the price was reasonable. No one was around to meet or greet us. We entered the unlocked exterior door and went to the basement and followed instructions on a sticky note left on the house door. We found two empty (shampoo and conditioner) bottles in the bathtub and an old used soap bar for our use?! Disgusting! Couldn't be absolutely confident that the towels were clean for us. Drinking glass on the tub edge. More old used soap bars under the bathroom sink along with an old toothpaste tube and electric toothbrush end. Cleaning is not a strong point of this operator! Note from house owner to previous occupant still on the counter in the room! So, to say the least, we were not confident of the room's cleanliness. No way to mange the room's heat. In the morning, the lady of the house opened her house door as we were leaving to confirm our payment manner (VISA or other) which was fine. What was not appropriate was the manner in which she greeted us - in her nightclothes! We really wished that she could have quickly found herself a dressing gown or sweater to cover herself better! We didn't want to see an older woman that way. We have stayed in many B&Bs and homes without or without breakfast options. This is one of the worst arrangements that we have ever encountered-even including stays in developing countries. We stayed the night but would not suggest any one else go there.

Just to list things up:
- the rooms are in the basement, it's not that much light coming in as promised
- it's NO HOTEL, so no cleaning of bed or bathroom, and no one empties the full waste bin
- since rooms are in the basement, they are relatively cold and moist
- no towels are changed, so moist towels remain moist (due to lack of fresh air)
- room 3 can only be heated if resident in room 2 turns heating on - this then is for both rooms!!!
- promised hairdryer was gone, also no tea in the room
- in order to get those things, we had to call host, who speaks a very poor English and rarely understood us

And all this costs 115 CAD per night - forget about it

We stayed at Caruso's accomodation and had a wonderful stay. It was only in returning home and checking my credit card statement that proved to be a shocker, when I was charged again for our stay. I reserved by telephone the night before for one nights stay, at which the owner requested a credit card to reserve the room, however she mentioned that she would prefer payment in cash. We paid in cash, checked out, left the key with the owner. One would assume a wonderful stay. The fine print on the web site states that when reserving a room, a two day min. stay is required, yet when I talked to the owner on the phone and upon checking out, none of this information was relayed to us.

The host was not present, we contacted her over the phone to get a set of keys from the room. The key didn't work, so we had to leave the door unlocked when we headed out for dinner. Around 10 pm someone knocked at the door asking us how he could contact the host as his room was not made. The host sent an employee from the restaurant to clean the room next to us. The cleaning lasted until 11:30 pm. We couldn't sleep and the employee was rude. The next morning we called the host again to complain, but she wasn't available to meet with us for the next two days. The host was arrogant and did not apologize for all inconvenience. After that she did not answer our phone calls at all.

This accommodation is definitely substandard...grungey and dirty, needs a complete overhaul to make the grade and even then I would not be too sure. The blinds in the bathroom and bedroom were filthy...the smoke detector had been removed so that was obviously not working and clearly a safety hazard, the floors 'sticky'. The room was very small and with a queen size bed was very difficult to move around in. It had some unusual fridge/hot plate/sink combination in it and dishes if you wanted to make meals...certainly NOT!!!
We were travelling with friends from Australia and their room was no better than ours. Unfortunately they reported in the morning that around midnight there was a lot of noise coming from upstairs that was like people moving furniture across the floor. This was certainly not a good experience for our visitors!
Like others have mentioned, the woman who answered the door was in her dressing gown (at 4 pm or so having said she just got out of the shower). One would think that if you are expecting guests to arrive that you would be prepared and dressed appropriately.
About the only positive comment I can make is that we were able to walk into Jasper town quite easily, so it had an OK location.
There is no way that I would ever stay in this place again or recommend it to anyone.

In Jasper you don't have many options: an apartment in a house or an apartment in the basement of a house. We got the basement of the house. The room is good sized, but the ceiling is low and a little claustrophobic. The bed is comfortable, but jammed against the wall. There are far too many steep stairs for my liking. It is within easy walking distance to downtown.
