It's a cute efficient cabin that was surrounded in grazing elk the entire time we were there. Just the views of the elk so close by grazing each day were worth the stay and you'll never have to be one of those people pulling over along the roadside and holding up traffic. The cabins feel private and it was very relaxing and quiet. There's a little wooden bench outside the cabins facing the river. The bathtub was new and nice and I could relax and stretch out in it after long days of hiking. There are only basic products of shampoo and body wash and no lotion or conditioner. There are tissues but no paper towels or coffee filters (although there are a few coffee packets), which would be a good idea. Although we brought our own coffee, the coffee pot made great coffee, and was much better than the single cup devices the other cabins had in our stay in B.C. and Alberta. It would also be great if there were a fan; we are hot natured and even with all the windows open all night and the thermostat/ fireplace never turned on and just a sheet were hot one night even though it was still cool outside. The bed and pillows are comfortable and there are chairs by the gas fireplace which are nice to relax by when it's cold with a blanket. There is a very basic grill that one day was cleaned and one day was not. Also on the web description it says to enjoy a camp fire, but there was no fire pit outside the cabin, or anywhere that we could see, so maybe it's a community one. The kitchen implements are very basic here and include a metal spatula, can opener, veg peeler, colander, tea pot and kettle, small cutting board, cutting knife, and a few pots and pans and a good cast iron pan. It could benefit from at least another knife, grater, and a soft spatula. One day housekeeping prepared our room spotlessly and another day left out crumbs and barely made up the bed. I thought I remembered there was laundry here but we couldn't find it driving by, so I asked if they had a laundry room at the front desk and she said no. I figured I was mistaken, but then looking it up after we left it is listed. The property is very close to the town which is nice but still far enough away to be very peaceful and removed. On pyramid lake trail we expected it to be basic but saw a black bear 10 meters from the trail feasting on berries, a fox, and other small wildlife

We arrived at the property a bit late in the evening. My first reaction was the signage was missing. I did not have a clue as to where the reception was nor did I know where my cabin was.
Inside the room, you needed to keep your shoes on. A thorough vacuum would do it a world of good.
On the plus side, the utilities were wrapped in plastic bags so that you had no worry about using them.
The soap and shampoo were wonderful, local products and really good.
I missed a proper table in the room.
The TV is a bit tricky for older people being that you have to have your Netflix account or what you use for streaming.
Watch out for deer or wildlife just outside your room if you are lucky.

The experience in the cabin brought joy to my wife and I. The first day we woke up to deer eating grass outside our window. Not just one but many. Sent videos back home and got reprimanded for getting so close to wildlife. ( videos were taken inside through the window) We saw a black beer about 20 yards from our cabin, deer scattered. We didn’t see much wildlife after the first day of our 4 day stay. Our friends stayed along the River and they had a better view but it was windier. Our cabin was not on the River side. The beds were hard and the pillows puffy and soft; not great sleep for us there.

The kitchenette was quite dysfunctional. There was no kitchen sink so you had to bring own water to use coffee maker and electric kettle. You had to use bathroom sink to rinse small wares— no dish soap. The appliances were quite large for the intent and the tiny fridge froze the few groceries we had and the freezer could hold two small ice packs. It was tucked in a dark corner so that made it difficult to work with to get a snack made. The place had a bistro but expense for our liking. (Two speciality coffees with a $2 tip was greater then $15).

It was one of our least favorite getaways.

Hello GolferJoe, thank you for sharing you visit to Pine Bungalows. How wonderful that you had the opportunity to see so many of our wild neighbors, that is always exciting. I understand from reviewing your reservation that you chose a cabin without a kitchen (East Cabins & Signature King Cabins), these units do not have a kitchen or kitchenette, nor are the advertised as having that amenity. They are equipped, for guest convenience, with a very small fridge, a coffee maker and mugs and glasses. If a kitchen is a preferred amenity for you I would certainly recommend one of our River Front King, Heritage or River View cabins, they are equipped with full kitchen and all the supplies. Regardless, thank you for sharing, and we would be pleased to host you again, do not hesitate to contact us directly to assist with booking a cabin that is aligned with your requirements, how disappointing that you chose a unit that was not aligned with your expectations. Kindly, John H - General Manager

We shared a 2 bedroom heritage cabin. The cabin was very well equipped...Cuisinart coffee maker, toaster, dishes, utensils were all wrapped. There was a full size fridge. We brought our groceries and firewood and were able to be self contained in the peaceful environs of the Pine Bungalows. We will definitely return on our next trip to Jasper.

Spent the weekend at Pine Bungalows in a River Front King cabin. Spacious, clean, renovated cabin with new bed, gas fireplace and heated bathroom floor. Everything in the fully stocked kitchen was sanitized and bagged before our arrival. Our last stay here was approximately 12 years ago and the improvements are impressive! Great service, we are already planning to come back!

This lovely place is only 5 mins drive from Downtown Jasper. My husband and I stayed at the River Cabin for two nights during the last week of July. We saw chipmunks playing infront of our cabin every morning. The cabin looks exactly like the photos. It was nicely built and the lighting was warm. I love the interior decoration! The kitchen was fully equipped and they provided Rocky Mountain Soap toiletries. The bed was super comfy and it absorbed movement.

Note that the cabins do not have AC. I didn't check before booking so we were worried about being too hot staying inside (it was over 30 degrees during day time). However, we were surprised that it was actually very cool in the cabin and not hot at all. We left all the windows opened at all time and we had to put on a blanket while sleeping.

You have to bring mosquito incense coils with you if you are planning to come during hot summer months. There were SO SO MANY mosquitos inside and outside the cabin. Even though there were mosquito screen windows, it couldn't prevent them from flying into the cabin when you open the door. Right after we checked in, my husband realized that we must get the mosquito incense because we got bitten by mosquitos immediately. Bug repellent won't work there! We got the incense coils at Robinson AG Foods.

Hello Kendy, thank you for sharing your visit. The new partnership with Rocky Mountain Soap has been fabulous, and they are local. Our cabins are all LEED certifiable, a element of that is that they are cool when it is warm outside and warm when it is cool outside. It was a significant investment but go along way for comfort and sustainability of the environment. There is no doubt that this summer (June & July) were mosquito heavy, it was a damp spring. Based on your feedback we plan to stock mosquito deterrents for next year. Thank you for sharing. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Kindly, John H - General Manager

We stayed at this place for 4 nights and this is really a hidden gem.

We were extremely satisfied and happy during the stay. The rooms were very spacious. Every detail was taken care off and there was nothing that was left unattended. The cottages were sparkling clean with all amenities.

The views of Athabasca river and the mountains were stunning. We simply got lost in the nature. The quiet atmosphere and the bon fires in the evening was relaxing and refreshed our minds and body. The roaming elks were a treat to watch.

The staff did an incredible job to keep this place up to the standard. They were fabulous, friendly and are very welcoming.

The Kumama bistro was awesome. The food was fresh and tasty. The host (sorry forgot the name) was super nice and friendly.

I will definitely definitely come back again and this time for a longer period.

We were disappointed in the poor wifi provided - two bars at very best in our room and switched in between wifi and LTE. The TVs also had no cable and only worked on wifi and therefore it was almost impossible to watch TV because of the slow loading.
Overall, the room was cute and basic. Clean and easily accessible to jasper town and surrounding hikes if you have a car. The restaurant on site seemed way too expensive (I ordered an ice cream for $7), so we avoided it!

Hello Katherine, thank you for sharing your visit to Pine Bungalows. Indeed our wifi is very poor, in the confirmation email sent to you on June 22nd, under property details is the following information "WiFi: We continue to embrace our mission of unplug & reconnect. We have heard our guest feedback and as a result have invested in, and are testing a limited Wi-Fi mesh that will deliver Wi-Fi throughout our property. This Wi-Fi can accommodate light activities like receiving and sending emails as well as search engine inquiries. This Wi-Fi DOES NOT support streaming of any kind." I am dissapointed to read that you missed that important bulletin at the time of booking. As part of this WiFi beta test we did outfit our Lodge Rooms with Smart TV's (they are not advertised as an amenity for those rooms and are not included in our room rates) for guests to enjoy streaming shows, if they so desire, using personal hot spots. We agree that it isn't perfect and that the TV's are not likely to be part of our business model going into 2022. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed our soft-serve ice cream, it is delicious. Kumama Bistro is excellent and I encourage you to try it on your next visit. Kindly, John H - General Manager

Excellant customer service start to finish and very attentive to your needs. Love the location and we booked King riverfront which i highly reccommend. I love the way the cabins are far enough apart and yet angeld in ways that promote privacy. the benches out front to sit and enjoy the river and mountain view are spectacular i could not get enough of the view. The cabins are lovely with a flair of rustic. Beds were comfortable and lots of fluffy nice pillows. Large, quiet, clean and spacious cabins that are well appointed. Cabins 1 - 8 might get more highway noise and we were in cabin 15 then to the end cabin 25 and 26 are set back and more private in the trees. Only thing we did not like was the code to enter we would have preferred a key cause you have to write down the code or take a pic and hope your cell phone does not get left inside or somewhere and once we were locked out which created some hassle but very minor. We had some trouble operating the gas fireplace its an unusual set up for that. If you were staying for longer than a couple days you may want to bring a cooler with ice to suppliment the very small bar fridge that desperately needed defrost but again minor and the fridge did not freeze things like alot of hotel fridges do so i apppreciated that cause i like to have lots of fruit and veggies on hand and nothing worse than finding the entire contents of the fridge frozen. We brought our groceries although the robinsons store in Jasper had good variety it did not have the selection of organic food i like although there were some organic choices. Very basic kitchen tools but definately enough to get by and if something is missing just ask cause this place aims to please. we would bring wine glasses next time or ask for some. we were given a free welcome drink and the restaurant baked good were excellant where they offer day old choices for half. there is prepared food and salads to go as well as a few groceries in the cooler such as eggs and milk and meats. Nice firepit outside main building as well. Good firewood for 14.00 extra we got one meal and one fire with it. the wifi was free but spotty but enough to use it. We have stayed at many places in Jasper that are expensive but this is where we will be staying from now on you cannot beat the use of a kitchen, the lovely cabin and space but most alll that million dollar view.

We love the rustic Pine Bungalows! It was our second or third time staying there. We rented the River View cabin for four. There was a nice little kitchen with basic supplies, two bedrooms with very comfortable beds, a roll-out bed in the living room, comfy chairs, gas fireplace, and full bathroom. With lots of picture windows on all sides, we saw a couple of elk and some marmots outside - it's a great place to be stuck inside on a cool rainy day. The river with trails is within viewing distance and less than a one minute walk away. It's clean and quiet, and if you need anything, they will drop it off within minutes of your phone call or text. They provide and will deliver the perfect amount of firewood for an evening campfire. Restaurant is mainly a meaty menu, but I was able to get a lovely vegetarian soup delivered to our cabin along with a delicious pasta with meat for my husband. They also have a little store.
Although Pine Bungalows is within walking distance of town, you will need to be up for a good walk, especially if you've been out hiking in the mountains all day - otherwise it's a quick drive into town for restaurants and bars. I'd happily stay there again!
