We enjoyed a fabulous 5 course meal and radio theatre in historic Hotel Selkirk located in Fort Edmonton Park, Edmonton, Alberta. The Arctic char was fantastic and all 5 courses were served well. The hotel itself has smaller than average rooms, very comfortable beds, and updated bathrooms. Please note that there is no TV in the rooms. You are paying...

A very nice experience for New Years Eve. You come anytime in the afternoon. Have leisurely drinks & see the magician perform up close. Then an excellent dinner. Afterwards swing dance lessons (from the pro's). Then dancing up until New years & later... Back upstairs (to turn in) to our very nicely appointed room. No TV, but I had no...

My wife and I stayed at the hotel Selkirk during a recent wedding at Fort Edmonton. I was pleasantly surprised by the charm, character and condition of the hotel and rooms. The rooms are definitely smaller than any modern day hotel, but that is not why you should be staying here. The hotel feel and location made it feel like...

The service was excellent, pleasant staff all around, management included. The dining experience was exquisite. We recommend the Salmon and the 8oz Filet prepared to every thing we requested. The access to the park at any time was wonderful for a late night stroll, great stress reliever. Lovely morning breakfast in the Mahogany Room and tranquil morning tour of the...

We wanted to see a show at the capital theatre and took advantage of the opportunity to stay overnight at the hotel. It was a wonderful stay in a cool historic building with old fashioneds in the Mahogany bar and eggs benedict and pork hash for breakfast not to be missed. Being situated within Fort Edmonton Park gives an interesting...

Great stay at Hotel Selkirk. Check-in was smooth, even got the room early (much appreciated, thank you!), friendly staff in the restaurant and great food. There was fruit-flavoured water in the lobby for guests, nice touch on a hot day. There was an elevator in the hotel, but we preferred using the nice staircase to get up to our floor....

We stayed 3 nights, starting on July 29th, the stay was enjoyable, the park was great, I have already shared all of our positive experiences with friends, the only down side was the air conditioner had quit working the second night so on our way out for the day we informed the desk of this, we returned around 10 pm...

The sheets in the hotel were horrible. They were scratchy and stiff and bothered my husband and mines skin. You can tell they were cheap. It was also very loud during the night and we were awake for hours. It was a horrible stay and I'd never stay there again. Between the awful bed sheets and the noise it was...

Good morning, Thank you for taking the time to tell us your experience. We are sorry to hear that your time at the Hotel Selkirk was anything less than perfect. Please know your comment has been forwarded to the relevant department heads in our hotel and the Park. Regards, Fort Edmonton Park

the hotel itself is about what one may expect - very low on amenities as it is a period hotel, which was just fine. It was a real treat to be at the park after hours to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The staff of both the hotel and restaurant desperately need hospitality training - they treat you as though you...
