First let me start by saying the staff was excellent. We arrived around 9 pm and had to call to be let in building and also let into underground. Nice lady checked us onto room 423... at midnight when kids returned from their walk my daughter tried to use the shower and could only get a dribble from overhead spout...unacceptable.
So called down to front desk to get moved... he said he had to check if any other rooms where available and I laughed because the place was a ghost town . He was able to move us to room next door within 5 min. That shower worked great in room 422 but discovered at 4 am toilet had issues and kept running after flushed. With all the issues with rooms this hotel is overpriced at $120 per night plus parking. Parking is also scary tight to get in and out of. Even though the staff was great I would not return. Did not feel hotel was that clean either. Kind of felt like they put up the signs but no extra effort was made for covid. Buyer beware

Had a good stay at the Ramada downtown Calgary. Valet parked out car, and check in was quick. Kids got to enjoy the outdoor pool and loved that we had access from our room to the pool deck because we were on the 3rd floor. Elevator was a little temperamental, at one point it wouldn't move after hitting the button for the lobby, but everyone had access to the service elevator for moments like that. Unfortunately their updating meant they painted the doors, doorjams, and window trims, so the main room door, bathroom door, and the openable window could be stuck open, so you had to make sure to fully close your room door to keep your stuff safe. The employees were wonderful though, friendly and smiling (through their masks).

Construction occurred all evening - really hard to sleep while someone was using a jackhammer at 12:30 in the morning. Although staff were very understanding and professional by addressing each issue that was reported to them, I would probably not stay at this property again. Recommend anyone staying here to ask for a balcony side room and as high up as possible.

Good Afternoon MariaMor, Thank you for taking the time to share your review, and for your kind words about our staff. It was unfortunate that you were disturbed by noise from outside our hotel. Any work being done was not from work in our building, but rather from a neighboring building. I do hope that you will reconsider giving us an opportunity to provide you with a more comfortable stay.

Booked two rooms, one room was renovated and a lot nicer than the other one booked. Same price...the nicer room had lights burnt out and both were boiling hot. Extremely uncomfortable! Staff were a bit rude and seemed annoyed with our general questions. Had to call multiple times to get staff to open the front doors for our late arrival. No mention of the pool being closed and breakfast not full service like advertised, generally very disappointed with the entire stay.

I have nothing to review except that I was rip off by Priceline. They should offer the stay in CAD dollars so that I wouldn't be shock of the price cause the US dollar is higher than the $CAD. Overall, I feel okay and safe knowing that It's located in the downtown and a walking distance to any attractions of the city.

The Ramada Plaza is in a great location in downtown Calgary. It is a very short walk from the shops on 8th Avenue and about 15 minutes from Calgary Tower. We really enjoyed our morning walk around the Bow River.

The rooms are spacious but outdated, especially the bathrooms. Unfortunately the rooms are really noisy, there is a constant hum and you can hear when next door flush the toilet. It is a shame as the windows are really good and you cannot hear outdoor noise.

All of the staff we spoke with were very friendly. There is a buffet breakfast from $18 and the waitress was really nice. The breakfast has a good range of options and the best French Toast from our two week tour of Canada with lots of breakfasts.

Our family date is ruined, my family are very disappointed about the amenities, my wife and daughter wanted to experience the jacuzzi suite so I booked the room and ask the front desk regarding our stay that were bringing our two kids and the front desk that I spoke suggested to add extra portable bed for that room for 10 dollars extra so I agreed, but when we get there they said that we are not allowed to get the room that I already booked. They said Only two person for that room. Instead, they gave me a very small room without microwave and fridge, very small bathroom and no free breakfast, and the pool is down. Me and my wife fought because of disappointment. We have decided to spend overnight instead of 3 nights since we arrived late in the evening and find another hotel for the next day.

We booked a room here for the Hotel Lives series - during COVID where you could watch a concert on the pool level from your balcony. The room was a bit dated but to have the opportunity to experience a live concert, it was totally worth it! Staff were really nice and helpful. The parkade next to the hotel was super cheap on the weekend. Needs to have fridges in rooms - that would have been a bonus for our beer.

Great location for what I needed in a walkable (or scooterable) downtown.
Internet was unusably slow and unreliable (no streaming, unable to scroll through SM feed, etc...). I travelled on business and was able to very slowly access info for emails, but was bad enough that I wouldn't get notifications and emails on my phone while on WiFi. Had speed tests max out at 0.34MBps.
Beautiful wide windows in rooms but curtains don't go flush up against the wall so a beam of light cuts right across the top of the headboards at sunrise. The best I could do to mitigate this was prop the ironing board up against it which helped but only held about 2/3 flush with the top still beaming in.

Great location. The hotel was clean and the staff were professional and very helpful. There is a pub connected to the hotel and several other restaurants and pubs very close to the hotel. The C Train which is public transportation is free to ride in the downtown core.
