My husband, 11-year old son and I hiked in on a stormy day in August. The hike is spectacular. We arrived at the lodge, cold and wet, and were greeted with a warm fire, an amazing spread of fresh baked goods, cheese and crackers and hot chicken noodle soup. There was a drying room to hang our wet clothes. We...

Staying at Skoki Lodge is a unique and rewarding experience. The lodge is well maintained and you feel part of the history as soon as you step through the front door. The hike in was a challenge, but impressive from every angle. I would recommend hiking out through Packer's Pass and past the Skoki Lakes, including close views of the...

We spent two 'Wonderfall' nights at Skoki Lodge at the end of September 2015. I had visited this National Historic Site on a day trip while backcountry camping in the area in the past and I was thrilled to finally have the opportunity to spend the night. We stayed in the Fossil room, one queen bed, small room, clean sheets,...

We just spent the weekend (Saturday and Sunday nights) at the Skoki Lodge after hiking in on rainy Saturday followed by a day hike in the steady rain on Sunday. Hospitality at the Lodge was exceptional and the food was unbeatable. The only thing that would have made the weekend perfect would have been the opportunity to warm up after...

My partner and I hiked to Skoki at the start of July and spent 2 nights. The hike into Skoki was a 12km, fairly mellow but absolutely outstanding hike. The scenery in the back country of Lake Louise is definitely a must see. The staff at Skoki were very welcoming and friendly and the food was incredible. The cabin we...

The hike in is gorgeous, view after breathtaking view. Love Alberta! Love Canada! Great service and scrumptious meals. The Cabins are very comfortable and met all of our needs. One should be comfortable sharing space with others though (shared dining room table and common area).

There's no doubt that the Alta backcountry hiking experience is absolutely astounding and that Skoki is a unique place. However I left with the feeling that they could do so much more to bring better 'value to the Skoki experience' - especially given the price charged. I wonder IF there is still a daily focus / mindset on 'brand building'...on...

We spent 2 nights here in March and had a wonderful time. The hike in was quite hard work as we hadn't used skins on our skis before. Most of the other guests were using cross country skis. The best piece of advice we were given was to skin up immediately at the trail starting point. We had planned on...

This was our seventh time to Skoki and it never disappoints. The hike in is gorgeous on its own but is just the beginning of the beautiful scenery. Using the lodge as a base, there are literally dozens of different day hikes that await with the lure of a warm lodge with tea and snacks when you return. Katie's five-star...

This was our second visit to Skoki Lodge and this time one we shared with our best friends who had never been before! If you want one of the most special experiences of a lifetime, visit Skoki Lodge! One of Canada's finest backcountry Lodges. My favorite things about Skoki: Katie Mitzel and her famous gourmet food - everything she makes...
