The room was crowed, my boyfriend and I hardly fit inside of it. Along with our two backpacks. The staff was cranky, and very rude when we asked to extend our stay one more night. Even though the hostel was not busy. The bar was never open, and the food wasn't great. Plus the shower had a dirty tampon in...

My friend and I reserved a private room for one night. When we arrived, we were told that there were no private rooms. Instead, we were given a four - bunk bedroom, and the receptionist told us that they won't allow anyone to check in in our room (so it's still private). The room was clean and spacey. The mattress...

Very impressed with this hostel. Compared with other places, there was so much room here. Big dorms, plenty of space. Lovely staff. Nice bar to chill. Only downside is that it's a little out of the way compared to other places, but saying that, it's only a 10-15min walk to downtown. Even a bus stop right out the front if...

I went there with my husband and two of our friends. The room was perfect for us as it had a loft with double sized bed. The mattress was very good and the sheets were clean. The only problem was the kitchen. I didn't feel that it was as clean as the rooms. But it was okay.

I was travelling on my own through the Canadian Rockies, and after staying at the HI in Lake Louise, decided to choose the HI for Banff. First off, make sure to double check what your reserved online compared to what you receive and are charged at check in. There seemed to be a difference in rates (with addition to the...

Stayed in one of the private cabins. Helpful staff, clean accommodation, price is higher than if you pay for a hotel, you wait about 30 minutes for a breakfast, decent area for when you want to go on hikes.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights. We were welcomed by a lovely guy at reception and he filled us in on everything about Banff, and all the ski resorts. That night there was a gang of people in the kitchen drinking shots and sitting on the kitchen benches (at 7pm) where we were trying to prepare food-I...

We stayed in one of the cabins separate from the dorm accommodation. Great spot. Free bus into town (but the walk is lovely of an evening) i.e. it is a bit out of town so you need to check bus times for carting shopping/ski gear. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I stayed here for one night while being in Banff for 4 days. During my stay i noticed the rooms and bathrooms were in excellent condition and clean. The hostel is in a beautiful location with a great view. But as I stated in my title is a 15+ walk into town, probably a $5 taxi.

“It's a backpacker hostel. You take your pick. Go for smaller for quieter (e.g. 4 dorm instead of 6 dorm).”
  • Quite spacious shower alcove and area behind the door.
  • Toilet amenities.
  • Six bed (three bunk) male dorm. Lockers under beds and on walls.
