This hostel had the friendliest and most helpful staff in all the hostels I have stayed in. A little bit out if town but walking distance. Amongst some great hikes though. Staff recommended some great places to eat. Always fun and social at the bar downstairs.

This was my first time ever staying in a hostel and I have to admit... I was unsure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised by the great location, super clean room and extremely friendly staff. The washrooms are shared so that's not a plus but otherwise, I have no complaints. The best part about this place was its...

The Banff Alpine Centre is located about 5 min drive and 20 min walk from downtown Banff. It has plenty of parking (passes sold at the visitor center downtown). We stayed in a mixed dorm of 6 people. The beds are very sturdy wood framed, so getting up on the upper bunks feels safe and solid. They also don't skweak....

We stay here quite often when we come to Banff because it's one of the most affordable options, but it's certainly not anything special; crampy rooms with stale air, but the staff is friendly and helpful! If you're looking for a place to rest your head between adventures without breaking the bank, this will be just fine!

We have visited hostels in Banff, Vancouver, Jasper and Valemount on our trip and this was bar far the best we stayed at. Banff is a really cool town and the hostel itself was really really nicely done. The rooms were also a thumbs up, and don't get me started on the comfy beds after a week of camping!

I came up to Banff to run the Banff Marathon on 21 Jun. I love the room, except I got stuck with a top bunk. The beds/cots are first come. So, I am ok with that. Quiet, no heavy snorers. I only stayed for 2 nights. Book online, the hostel had fully booked for the two days I stayed here....

The room was crowed, my boyfriend and I hardly fit inside of it. Along with our two backpacks. The staff was cranky, and very rude when we asked to extend our stay one more night. Even though the hostel was not busy. The bar was never open, and the food wasn't great. Plus the shower had a dirty tampon in...

My friend and I reserved a private room for one night. When we arrived, we were told that there were no private rooms. Instead, we were given a four - bunk bedroom, and the receptionist told us that they won't allow anyone to check in in our room (so it's still private). The room was clean and spacey. The mattress...

Very impressed with this hostel. Compared with other places, there was so much room here. Big dorms, plenty of space. Lovely staff. Nice bar to chill. Only downside is that it's a little out of the way compared to other places, but saying that, it's only a 10-15min walk to downtown. Even a bus stop right out the front if...

I went there with my husband and two of our friends. The room was perfect for us as it had a loft with double sized bed. The mattress was very good and the sheets were clean. The only problem was the kitchen. I didn't feel that it was as clean as the rooms. But it was okay.

“It's a backpacker hostel. You take your pick. Go for smaller for quieter (e.g. 4 dorm instead of 6 dorm).”
  • Quite spacious shower alcove and area behind the door.
  • Toilet amenities.
  • Six bed (three bunk) male dorm. Lockers under beds and on walls.
