A great experience! We hiked about 4 hours to get to the lodge away from cell service and wifi. The place is comfortable and welcoming. There is still hot water, showers, lights, heat, and a comfortable bed. The food is amazing and the people are wonderful. Thank you Alison! We hiked around the lake and enjoyed the natural beauty. At...

One of the best experiences I've ever had - and that is what this place is. This is not a hotel - this is a backcountry experience worthy of every penny you spend to stay there. The staff are so nice, the food is nothing short of incredible, the private cabins are quaint and well appointed, and the hiking in...

This is a back country lodge. We took an 11 and 15 year old. We hiked in from Red Earth. It took 3.5 hours - easy for the first 2.5 hours and more strenuous the last leg of the hike (but still easy). The accommodations are very sparse and basic - but exceptionally clean. Rooms don't have water and there...

First time visiting the Lodge in winter. I ski up Redearth Creek to the Warden's cabin frequently (11 kms one way) but had never gone in the last 2.4 kms to spend time at the Lodge in winter. There is a big hill which many walk carrying their skis that first km. towards the lodge but then just heavenly trail...

I simply cannot give Shadow Lake Lodge high enough praise! The food was plentiful and delicious, the staff make you feel like one of the family, and the accommodations are unbelievable for being so remote. The beauty that surrounds the Lodge is breathtaking, the hikes challenging and highly rewarding and the guests that pop in become instant friends eager to...

Shadow Lake lodge is as close as one gets to an in-town hotel experience in the back-country. The hot showers, extremely clean toilet facilities, solar and gas lights, all come together to bring the creature comforts of the city. The food is excellent, the service terrific, and the cabins are well appointed, comfortable and roomy. If there is a down-side...

Hiking the 14 km well marked RedEarth trail took us 4 hrs. We arrived at 2 PM and devoured the quality fresh fruit, home made desserts, cheeses, and had tea on the porch. For dinners we had herb encrusted halibut, pork tenderloin, and fresh BC salmon. Salads, side dishes, breakfasts and lunches were also amazing. The cabins were spacious, comfortable...

We biked the first 10,5 km which I highly recommend. This lodge brings in all their stuff by horses, so you can imagine what the trail is like, not the best for hiking. If you start early you can do a beautiful loop through Whistling Pass. And you'll arrive just in time for afternoon tea. The only problem with that...

Have been to this special place many times. We hiked in over Vista and Arnica Lake. A 15 km hike through outstanding scenery and mountain lakes. With some elevation gain and loss, it was a good workout but nothing extreme. Hiked to Haiduk Lake on the 2nd day, an easier choice as it's mostly flat. Hiked out via Red Earth...

Spectacular hiking, scenery, food and lodging. This is a back country gem that should not be missed. Alison Brewster and her team made our visit special with their hospitality and great food - and the trivia questions (to see which table went first to the buffet) were an added bonus. Easiest way in is the hike up Redearth Creek -...
