After many months of confinement, being able to enjoy Decameron Panaca was a delight, never the less, there is a lot of room for improvement, WiFi wasn’t good at all, the shower in our room didn’t work properly it was way too hot or cold, there was no drinking water in our room. We asked for chocolate milk for our daughter and we could not get it in the afternoon they say they only provide it the morning, not the answer I expect from an all included hotel. On the bright side, the premises are absolutely beautiful and relaxing, the social distancing measures are working very well and you can think the poor WiFi helps you relax on your holiday. Also, the closeness to the park is a big plus.
The hotel is perfect for families with kids. At 7 am they can milk the cows, feed the pigs and collect eggs for breakfast. The facilities are good, the venues are spotless, food is absolutely amazing, employees are friendly and resourceful. We unfortunately had to visit the infirmary, but the nurse was completely helpful and professional. We will be back!
We visited Decameron Panaca for a 3 night say in January. This place is an All Inclusive resort with great food, entertainment, hospitality, shows, open bar, big and beautiful rooms each one with a covered patio and hammocks looking a the mountains. We used the spa and it was an excellent service. We also used the guide tours that they offer to the surrounding towns and the coffee park. Juan David Patiño was our tour guide and he did a great job explaining the history and going in detail of every little town and attraction. We visited Salento and Valle del Cocora and it was one of our best experiences ever. Horse riding in the Colombian mountains with an incredible landscape!!! Thank you Decameron Panaca for the best vacation ever!
This hotel is not even near 4 stars. Has no AC, and to get wifi you have to walk to the front desk, wait, and pay by the hour. That gives you an idea of the type of service you will get. Many other things are below standard. Also, the main attraction is the Panaca park. You have pools at thd hotel and thats it, not even a decent playground for kids.
This place is packed with people on the weekend. Very noisy, and with the Buffet food on offer, all the piggies in society like to push in the queue. We stayed in a bedroom for 3 adults, we had a baby as well. We constantly had to ring the staff and request a 4th towel. When I enquired, Carolina told me that the room was only for 3 people, therefore 3 towels were allocated. Another thing that is a real bother. You cannot book a table at the restaurant, unless you line up at 730am each morning. Within 5 minutes the restaurants are full. When you book the hotel, packages are sold. These include entry into the Coffee park, Panaca park etc...However, upon checkin, you need to line up in front of the Tour guide desk to claim the tickets. This office is only open 8-5pm. If you arrive after this time, it is not possible to collect the tickets. On Monday, all the theme parks are shut. We were not told this, upon check in, or when I lined up for 40 minutes to collect all the tickets. The Buffet food is very average. They are buying in fruit, that has gone past the use by date, they use far too much salt. There is an overall lack of communication both in Spanish and English. Far too many staff, who seem to be incapable of reading details, paying attention to detail, and who don’t really go out of their way to help families with young babies. There are also staff in the blue uniforms that try and push you to listen to their seminars regarding more packages. I would not pay for this hotel again. There are far better places, which I would imagine being cleaner, more relaxed and with better facilities. …
