We hired the 1st floor function room on a Saturday. Food was served promptly and staff were lovely and respectful of our privacy during the speaker. Would thoroughly recommend for any groups looking for a function room and food.

Good location. Great Pub with excellent food and friendly atmosphere. Fantastic Customer Service. Made us feel welcome from the moment we got there, including our 2 black labs. Nothing was too much trouble. Cottage was clean and very comfortable. Joins directly on to the pub so not far to go for food and drink and no trouble getting home after...

This is the fourth time I've stayed and visited the Old Poets Corner, each time to enjoy the twice yearly beer festival in March and October. As they have rooms we always decide to stay over, great to be able to attend the beer festival and toddle off to bed after you've tried as many as you can manage! The...

Given that the pub has won yet another big CAMRA award, we went as a family with the wife and I expecting to grab an average bite but some top notch beer. A couple of the beers were very good, but it's the food we'll be going back for. If there was a kids' menu, I didn't see it -...

Perfect place after a day walking. Comfy beds, great choice of beer, lovely food both breakfast and dinner (recommend booking a table). Most of all friendly staff. Darren was particularly helpful and informative. Thanks everyone at the old poets. We will be back.

We visited this place one Sunday on the off chance of getting a meal - the staff were very obliging and found us a table. Food was good and service excellent. We would definitely go back again. It is also dog friendly but they have a special area in the pub so as not to offend other diners.

Fan-tastic!! We've never eaten such good pub food. The meat and potato pie was to die for and the homemade chips were great. Service was friendly too. Pub is olde world so not for you if you like ultra modern interiors but we'll certainly be back.

This is not my first review on this excellent establishment. This is a great pub in a nice place with an agreeable atmosphere, respectable food and nice staff. I am a not sure about the children being able to sit on one side of the line but not another but I take this as an acceptable quirk that is not...

We know this as my husband used to work at the Peacock at Rowsley. 3 pieces of chicken in my pie, so that's 3 mouthfuls of sour chicken, not filling or tasty. None of the other meals we had were much better, very dry. After complaining the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to help. A women who I...
