Wow, what a surprise. Transformation has been wrought on the Punch Bowl. No, this may not be a recent transformation, but it was new to me. Years ago, I stopped for a drink at the Punch Bowl - it was just a local country pub, typical of its type at the time. Last week, I needed a place to stay...

We cannot fault anything about this place. The staff are lovely and friendly and the service is brilliant. We have stayed a couple of times and both rooms have been beautiful. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the food is so good we popped back in on our way home for the Sunday lunch in front of the fire.

We have just returned from the first, of what shall hopefully become many, visits to The Punch Bowl. The service was outstanding from the second we entered the door. Every single member of staff were so genuinely friendly, approachable, attentive and delightful. Our room (Hebblewhite) was beautiful in every way - the freestanding bathtub was the highlight of the room...

Since getting married there some years ago, we occasionally pop back to the Punchbowl for a short stay and are always made to feel welcome. This time we tried the Whitelock room which was, although very clean and nicely decorated, slightly gloomy; but that's not uncommon with old buildings I suppose. Personally I preferred some of the smaller but brighter...

We have been visiting The Punch Bowl for a number of years, indeed every time we were in the area. We just think the food, and pleasant elegant, but laid back, atmosphere are terrific. We just dawned on me that I had never written a review, so decided to right that wrong today. It was a lovely sunny spring day...

I visited the Punch Bowl restaurant with a group of 10 friends on a "stag" weekend. We arrived a little bit early for our reservation, so we were seated in a beautiful lounge area for an hour or so with drinks (the selection of beers is excellent and I'd recommend the Swan Blonde). We were then seated in a semi-private...

Having had many recommendations over 15 years for quality food and wine ,allow me to describe without any bias or bad feeling our experience of the 7th March lunch. A warm welcome back,(we had not been before?) Seated in a pleasant dining area at a cheap worn laminate stick table. Lunch menu very limited and wine list very average.Rissotto starter...

We are very fortunate, because we live near this wonderful restaurant and can therefore dine here quite often. In our opinion, this is the best restaurant in the South Lakes - and we have visited many, including some with a Michelin star. The meals are expertly-created by the team in the kitchen, and brought to the table by friendly and...

We have been to the Punch Bowl many times since it became a gastro pub. I would say now it is more of an excellent restaurant with a bar. The food is fantastic and very friendly service. Relaxing and homely in the lovely Lyth Valley. Damson central ! A hearty recommendation.
