We stayed here with family and friends for 2 nights starting on boxing day. We were apprehensive about taking our dog with us but this turned out to be no problem. There was plenty of grass area to walk him. Our room was really comfortable and warm. Due to covid the room wasn't cleaned but this wasn't a problem and the staff would give you anything you ran out of. The food was really good quality. All the staff were friendly and worked very efficiently under the difficult circumstances. We will definitely return in the very near future.
This was our fourth stay at the damson and it was perfect so perfect after our stay at cuckoo we booked and extra night and had a second stay at the damson so now our 5th stay. We love it the room was a family room and was so clean and well presented. The fact the hotel is dog friendly just makes it even more amazing. The food was spot on we enjoyed all the meals we had during our stay and couldn't complain about anything. The pool area was very clean and well maintained we enjoyed our daily swims. The booking of slots works a treat. The staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble especially given the current circumstances. Thanks to Victoria on reception and for sorting our last min second stay you were so helpful. Kate is also very helpful and have spoken to her on other occasions. Arti is so helpful and is always on the ball with your food and drink. Paul the manger is always keeping things ticking along and always asks how your stay is going. We will be back again and can't wait to return when we can once the tiers change. Thanks again Damson and stay safe …
Stayed here with friends for 2 nights, 26th and 27th December. Very clean room. Very comfy bed. Great rainfall and usual shower. Brilliant lunch and dinner menu. Something for everyone. Super service from all staff. Very friendly and helpful. Pool and jacuzzi superb. Staying 2 nights at their sister Hotel. Just booked another night at Damson Dene for tomorrow night! Highly recommend.
Hotel and staff lovely only complaint is that you have to order a substantial meal to order alcoholic drinks. If you are a resident you should just be able to have drinks, and a bowl of chips is not substantial which to some people it is
Staff were nice, grounds and common area are very pleasant. Food is ok, though breakfast is expensive for what it is; lots of lower quality food. However the evening meal desserts are really reallt good! Onto the room then: at first look it is really nice, lots of nice decor and a large bath tub with jacuzzi jets. However on closer inspection the matress was aweful, only out matched in its uncomfortableness by the pillows which were about as useful as not having pillows. The bed also creaked so much that if you or your patner move the tiniest bit in your sleep you will both wake up. The jacuzzi jets on the bath tub are powered through the drain system which means it makes a god aweful gurgling noise everytime they fire meaning after 5 minutes you just turn them off and enjoy a bath. You might think "ah well they have a proper jacuzzi downstairs" but you would do better to not bother. The jacuzzi downstairs has very powerful jets but is heated to about 28ºc by my guess, slightly warmer than the pool, oh and the jets shoot out ice cold water... Overall for the price it was a massive disappointment. I would say it is worth about £30 a night max. If they sort out thre beds then I reckon £80 would be the max.…
