The Barn House is a beautiful guest house with large comfortable rooms. The décor was fresh and new with (joy oh joy) well appointed plug points! Tea and scones were there to welcome us and the conservatory was a splendid haven after our long walk from Bampton. Barn House is located a short walk from the village centre and we...

What a delightful place to stay! We were on the Coast 2 Coast walk and this was definitely a highlight! Very gracious home with large rooms and baths. Breakfast was complete with a gorgeous selection of fresh fruit salad, home made jams and marmalades. Lovely setting too.

Orion is a beautiful village to arrive in (after walking from Shap). Friendly welcome with tea and scones served in the lounge. The owner gave us a good recommendation for where to eat - The George Hotel but otherwise was unobtrusive which felt fine to us as we arrived with another couple walking C2C and this gave us the space...

I have been waiting to write this review until our group of 6 completed the C to C walk do that I would get a better impression of accommodation along the course of the walk, as I did not wish to be unfairly critical. Another group member already has submitted a review, with no reply or comment from the owner...

Stayed here 12 years ago and found it one of the best places on the coast to coast walk. Very pleasant village, one of the best presented b&b in a convenient location for walkers. Rooms well equipped and quest lounge great for relaxing. Having read the previous recent reviews I expected a similar experience this time. Unfortunately we must have...

The Barn House is a family run B&B with very comfortable en-suite accommodation. The rooms are separate from the main house with ample space to relax outside or sit in a communal indoor area. There is a fridge with drinks and snacks available to charge to your room. They were able to help with our washing and went out of...

Friendly, helpful hosts. Really good facilities. Cream tea on arrival. Very comfortable. Highly recommended. Orton is a good place to break the otherwise long leg of Shap (or Bampton) to Kirkby Stephen. The pub, a few hundred metres walk, serves good food too.

Stayed here on our Coast to coast walk. This was the best accommodation on the whole route. Really great barn conversion, very modern and spacious with a lovely conservatory for guests to use. Owners were friendly too. Well worth stopping off in Orton.

An exceptional pit stop on the coast to coast walk. It is very difficult to think of any criticism. There were scones on arrival. A beautiful conservatory to sit in. Hot shower. Scrumptious breakfast. Comfy beds. What more could you want?

The Barn House is a modern but tasteful building which is beautifully decorated, and is owned by a climber, so someone who understands the lure of the great outdoors. This was Day 7 of the C2C for us, and this place was one of the best so far. The welcome was warm and friendly, the rooms modern and spacious, full...
