This is one of the most beautiful hotels I stayed in. The views from the hotel are stunning. We stayed for 1 night and it felt too short. The hotel design and atmosphere are charming. We had an excellent dinner at the hotel restaurant - Don't miss it. We stayed on the 3rd floor and there's a beautiful balcony where...

My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel. I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately we had a bad experience staying here. We arrived after a long drive across Iceland, our first impression, the location is beautiful and hotel quaint, but the receptionist as soon as we walked in wasn't friendly, rude to us, and was...

The hotel is stunning. The grounds are wonderful - so many opportunities to hike or explore. The restaurant is not included in the price (breakfast is not in the price). The breakfast and dinner were ok but I did not feel the need to partake more than once. The internet was available but was slow. The room was a nice...

Hotel Budir is a lovely old hotel in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are small, but quaint and the staff was super helpful. There is a 'craft' store next to the hotel that is only open for a few hours in the afternoon and the infamous 'black' church is just a few 100 yards away. We could walk to...

Location, location, location. Very nice facility, which honored its heritage on the peninsula. Lots of charm. Food was excellent - one of the best meals during our 11 days in Iceland! Staff was friendly and outgoing. Would definitely go back (as long as we didn't end up on the 3rd floor again). Google Maps had no clue where this place...

Our family of five had three rooms for night during our two-day tour of the peninsula. The rooms were small, cozy, and quite comfortable. I've traveled to over 15 countries and would have to rank this hotel in the top handful where I've ever stayed with quite possibly the most breathtaking views. To one side is the beautiful sea and...

Stayed at this hotel for two nights and was really looking forward to it seeing the positive reviews. The hotel is quaint and the common areas lovely to sit and have a drink. On check in I asked for a different room to room 15 due to the views and they had others available....why not put us in one of...

We had the most amazing stay at Hotel Budir for three nights in February 2017. The hotel it's self is in the middle of know where and although it took some getting there it was well worth it. We can not thank the staff enough especially Krisztien who made our wedding day run so smooth and special. The food was...

We had a comfortable room after not being able to check in our prebooked hotel. We were so glad to have a night here. It was a warm friendly place. I would definitely recommend it over The North Star hotel in Olafvik. Breakfast was as expected and we had to be on our way before dinner.

Hotel Budir's restaurant, arguably one of the most romantic restaurants in Iceland, has been referred to as "The Mecca of Icelandic cooking", due to its unique and delightful cuisine. The restaurant's menu is seasonal and takes advantage of fresh local produce like seafood and fish from neighbouring villages such as Stykkisholmur, Olafsvik and Borgarnes. The hotel also organises and hosts a number of weddings, all of which are unique and tailor made with the wedding couple or their representatives. Many of the weddings ceremonies are conducted in the little church close to Hotel Budir or in the hotel reception; it is even possible to get married on the golden sand beach close to the hotel. In addition, the hotel also offers facilities for meetings and small-to-medium sized conferences thus making it ideal for business-meetings or conferences with colleagues.Hotel Budir has it all, a world-class service, fine food and drink and luxurious rooms, making it ideal for get-togethers with friends and family, or a romantic weekend with a loved one - all of which can be enjoyed in an indescribably beautiful environment. ... more   less
