Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic place the whole property was a delight to stay at but when we couldn't drive to toilets from winbar camp because it had rained and told to dig a hole to do business and had to move but no one come on the site we moved from a bit ordinary current managers have a bit to learn but overall its a great place.

Everything about this working station including the camping areas and accommodation is neat, tidy and clean. We stayed in the "Shearers Quarters". Very well appointed kitchen and dining room. TV, aircon plus all cutlery and crockery, only required our own food. Costs for accom and camping are very reasonable. Recommend 100%. Great job by Liz and her team.

What amazing countryside! We camped on the billabong (which was full following the recent floods). A wonderful peaceful location, with plenty of bird life. Great facilities and great hosts. Will definitely be back.

We stayed in Mitch's Hut, the name does it a grave injustice! Very comfortable, really nicely decorated, everything you could need ,and perfectly located, and great value. Liz was very friendly and helpful. 10/10

Our family of six (kids aged 5, 6, 9 & 12) stayed on a powered site for 5 nights and LOVED every minute! Liz welcomed us providing helpful information to aid our stay. The amenities were great and close by including a laundry, pool and camp kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit each night where we cooked most of our meals in a camp oven. Gosh the stars!! The wood was restocked daily so we had ample supply! We enjoyed fishing and yabbying in the river which was within walking distance of our van - Liz provided nets and bait for the yabbies. The Mud Map 1 was also a hit with all of us setting out on an adventure! (Mud Map 2 is for next time we stay!) It took us about 4hrs return with a stop for a picnic lunch by the dam while the kids caught yabbies. The kids loved seeing goats, emu’s, pigs and roo’s! We ventured out into the billabong on canoes provided by Trilby complete with life jackets. Recent flooding had the water teeming with wildlife - a must see! We also enjoyed a tour of Dunlop Station. The history of this area is just wonderful! The old homesteads, the shearing sheds and store - definitely worth adding to your time! This place is such a great escape for the family, a must see for the history lovers and people interested in exploring the beauty of the outback 😊♥️

We were made very welcome by Liz our hostess.. the time we had was punctuated with great conversations about station life which was fabulous. Our accommodation was warm and cosy despite an outside toilet. Some cabins have inside loos but they were booked out weeks before. You must book to stay here. Liz supplied our meals and we had no complaints. Drinks and nibbles at the Bilabong was a highlight as were the black cockatoos. Great campsites too. Our visit to Dunlop Station was fascinating as was our adventure drive through the station to the original homestead.. thoroughly recommend visiting Trilby Station.

We stayed in the Jillaroo Cottage and were treated to lovely home cooked meals. The property tour is a must do and a highlight of our 3 day stay, along with a tour of the neighbouring Dunlop Station. Beautiful location and great hospitality in a beautiful part of the world.

What a great homestead to stay at. It meet all my expectations and more. Would love to stay longer next time. Loved the freedom to self drive, following a mud map, onto the property, viewing old vehicles, homestead, stock & vegetation. So enjoyable.

Group of ten on OutBack By Air tour were welcomed warmly and had a great experience. Watching the sunset by huge warm fire with bubbles and snacks was delightful. All meals were excellent and accommodation was also good especially the cottages. When groups plane had to have an extended stay we were welcomed back with smiles and a roast dinner! where else would you get such a welcome for ten unexpected guests?

We stayed for 3 nights at the Overseer's Cottage, which was very comfortable and well equipped. We also had a great time combining a picnic with the drive around the property to see not only the different landscapes but also the remnants of the old homestead as well as vehicles. Definitely recommend this place for friends and families, and look forward to coming back one day.
