After a pleasant overnight train ride from Bhubaneshwar, we were met by Mr D who took us to Chandoori Sai. I'd seen the photographs, etc., but it was more beautiful and quiet than I'd even imagined. Leon, the owner, greeted us warmly and took us to a lovely big room overlooking the garden with spectacular views of the glorious countryside...

Such a delight to be here. The trouble that Leon took to ensure everyone was looked after was very special. I loved the little touches that made me feel spoilt such as being hunted out to give me chai and a delicious cookie. Delicious food and great company at dinner. Loved the way you could wander in and out of...

Leon is your host, built the place, designed huge rooms and had dozens of local village potters set up camp outside to make the glazed terracotta tiles you see everywhere. The local tribal ladies cook for you and swirl through the place in their colourful saris. Your laundry comes back perfect and is done by hand (a group tribal shared...

Chandoori Sai is the most beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Every inch is stylishly decorated with artistic designs, colours and local Indian crafts. The large surrounding garden full of trees and plants provided an idyllic haven to read and sketch. Leon the owner welcomed us as if we were friends, and the food we ate was outstanding. Being on...

Chandoori Sai is a spacious, luxurious guest house with a layout like an old style colonial residence & beautiful garden. It is most efficiently run by Leon, it's Australian owner, & ably assisted by a retinue of local village women who help out with the cooking, laundry, odd jobs as & when required. Leon is most accommodating & friendly -...

Spent 3 nights here recently on a fantastic tour of Orissa (booked through Grass Routes of Puri) - could easily have stayed longer. Lovely rooms (more reminiscent of an African lodge than one normally associates with India), beautiful terracotta floor tiles and huge decorative pots all made on site by the potters from the local village. Guesthouse is well situated...

Chandoori Sai is an attractive guesthouse made from local materials using the skills of very talented artists. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. Each room opens out onto a very peaceful and attractive garden. The reception area and dining room are very attractive with lots of beautiful pots scattered around inside and outside. You are encouraged to watch...

I spent 3 nights in this place and it was just amazing! I loved everything; the location is perfect, in the middle of the nature. The accommodation is wonderful, decorated with so beautiful furnished. Very clean and well-finished. And the host, Leon, is a very nice person who personally takes care of the place; he's very kind, and he cooks...

It is my favorite place to go for a short break from the city only for the fresh air, rustic background, fabulous hospitality and some delicious food made by the host himself. The location of the guest house is secluded in middle of a pottery village, but it is well worth the trip.

I am conflicted. I don't know if I should be happy that very few know about this place or do my bit and let people know. I stumbled upon Chandoori Sai. I was in the village for some work and I happened to chance upon this marvel of a Guest house and meet Leon. Leon is my personal version of...
