This has to be one of the best meals I have had in a very long time, excellent does not go half way to describing it. The best thing to do is to go yourself. Food excellent, staff lovely & very knowledgeable which is something you don't always get.

Cosy, welcoming pub atmosphere with a refined, interesting menu and good wine list. The set lunch was excellent value for money (18 for 2 courses, 21 for three) and well received and my own crab mac and cheese starter and hake main were absolutely superb, both delicately flavoured and generously portioned. The delicious homemade bread and salted butter to start...

Dined at 6.30pm. Well received in a comfortable, dog freindly pub. Our meals were excellent. We both dined from the fixed price menu at 2 courses for £21.50 each. Starters were fishcake for my partner and mackerel with rhubarb and ginger for me. Both excellently created and balanced. Mains, Baba ganoush with flatbread for my partner and belly pork for...

Booked a small but very comfortable room on the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal. Following a warm welcome, the service throughout our stay was second to none. Dinner was outstanding with the (new to the menu I was told) Beef dish the absolute highlight. One of the most beautifully cooked and presented meals I can remember having. To take advantage...

Very good service and efforts made to ensure you have a good stay. Although the rooms aren't large there is everything you need (unless you watch a lot of television). And full marks for a quality breakfast with variation above the norm. Others have mentioned the restaurant food, its very good and a nice wine choice. All round, can't fault...

I find it hard to fault this place. Yes, the room was rather small and we prefer baths to showers - but it was beautifully furnished with fabulous linen and scrummy biscuits. The staff are delightful and dogs welcome for no extra charge - both factors contributing to the spirit of a very special place.

I've noted that some recent reviewers have been underwhelmed by The Gurnards Head and thought I'd add a view. We visited Cornwall for the first time last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. We thought the Inn offered comfortable lodging, tasty food and good quality wine at a fair price. You wouldn't confuse any of it with the top end, but...

We have been visiting for some time but unfortunately the quality and value for money has declined year on year. London prices and ambivalent service. I would go to The Queens Arms in Botallack or Kings Arms In St Just.

We've been visiting the Gurnard's Head for many years now and there's no denying the charm of the building and the setting. But if you're looking for a cosy, traditional boozer, keep driving. This is now your archetypal gastro pub, ideal for towny tourists who prefer overpriced food and gap-year staff to pub grub and cheery locals. The menu is...

We stayed for one night and it was such a lovely, relaxing stay. Just what we needed. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was great. It was the "small" room 1, but that wasn't a problem, the view was fantastic, the room is nice and quiet, the bed very comfortable and the shower was lovely. The food...
