Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for one night as part of a 14-day self-driving road trip. This is a typical Asian-style budget hotel. The main reasons I chose it was its location and it has ample on-site parking. The room and bathroom were dated but clean enough and the room was large and comfortable. The bedding, pillows, linen, and towels were fine. The air-conditioning and hot water and internet worked well. At a walk-in rate of $20 USD, I thought it was fairly priced.

This hotel has a great location on the street that runs along the river. The rooms are clean and reasonably priced. The restaurant on the ground floor is probably the best one in town and it has both Cambodian and Western food. The staff were all nice and helpful. When we needed ice for our water bottle, they would get us a bag of it from the restaurant. At the end of our trip, we tried to find drivers to take us back to Siem Reap but were being quoted exorbitant rates (some were claiming the high rates were due to the Khmer New Years which didn't actually start until the end of the next week). The staff at the front desk found and booked us taxi drivers with reasonable rates. Finally, I read some review that said it was very noisy at night. We had asked about that before booking and were told it is normally very quiet except for some holidays. It was indeed quiet every night we stayed.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. SUPER NOISY!! NIĢHTMARE CHINESE KARAOKE ACROSS THE ROAD. Hotel rooms being worked on. Crap food. No good food in Koh Kong. So bad we're checking out 2 days early. Do yourself a favour, avoid Koh Kong altogether. It's a dump. Nothing to offer. Like Cambodia in the 90s.

I booked 3 Rooms, One of those rooms Special RQ for Weeding Anniversary and the booking.com confirmed as Hotel will arrange for no extra charge, we don't care about extra charge as we feeling to pay extra but when we C/I the staff said they didn't arrange nothing. Really Really Disappoint. On C/O day I forgot One T-Shirt Original in Bathroom and I come back to take it and Reception called to asked Room attendant said she found it. But they not placed it Lost and Found Reception Counter. And the Reception told me can come back take it latter as they will call me but they never call me until I go back to take it night again as they said busy but not true.

At first glance rooms look spacious and good. If you look better you see the dripping water pipes, mildew, dirty walls that are in need of a paint, noisy AC, etc. There is no care of the rooms, no love in even the smallest decoration or attentions. Just straigth on, basic. Ok for one night.

I've stayed here 2 or 3 times a year since it first opened. Rooms are always spotless but some have problems with ants. Most smell of smoke and have seen better days. On the plus side staff are friendly, it's cheap at 15/20 dollars a room, the aircon works well and it's never rowdy. If you don't like the sound of traffic at 6am ask for a room at the back.

I've stayed numerous times over the years, and always gave it a 5 star review. Everything is starting to look a bit dated, including the aircon which was pretty awful if I'm honest. On the plus side after 7 years they've finally sorted the Wi-Fi out. I checked in and she handed me a key. She then asked the cleaner in Cambodian what was the room where the last guest had been smoking. She then took the key back off me and handed me another. So I told her in Cambodian that I wanted a no smoking room. At which point she returned the first key to me. I thought that was a bit off.

For the money I paid, about €25 per night, this place was shockingly expensive for what I got. I have never been in a hotel room before where whole platoons of ants are coming out of the bathroom sink overflow. Every day there would be a carpet of the buggers all over the bathroom, leading out into the room itself. For some reason, they elected not to crawl over the bed, so that's something to be thankful for. Other than that, the WiFi was good and strong enough to do skype calls without tripping out. The hotel has a run-down feel to it, and the shop and restaurant are very over priced. Thankfully if you turn right out of the place, there is a new small container restaurant which will do you a good meal with beer for about $3.

After my last stay two and a half years ago things here haven't changed much. The hotel is still the best choice in KK, IMHO. What is better now is the fast WiFi which works also in the room. Water heater in the bathroom works well, water pressure isn't that great. The girl at the reception is very friendly and speaks English (if it is her shift). You have a choice of a standard room which is entirely adequate, and a "VIP" room, same size, just the bedframe is a bit more elaboratively carved, Chinese-style. The little convenience store in the lobby is more expensive than stores in town, but it is, you guessed it, convenient. My recommendation for a stay in KK.

I've stayed in numerous places in Koh Kong over the years, and I reckon this is pound for pound the best of them. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spotless and modern. There's a comfy bed, tv, water, toiletries, a sofa, table; plus a good size bathroom. The negative is the Wi-Fi. The staff always say "Oh there's a problem with the company" Maybe there is, but it's always the same. Very rarely works in the day, usually comes on in the evenings. I'm not complaining. Just grab yourself a Metfone SIM for a dollar. Then get yourself 2GB for another 3 dollars. Easy to do. It's all automated. Press 2 for English. Then follow the instructions.
