Most visitors to Tuscany have a preset itinerary stopping at the beautiful and obligatory cities of Florence , Siena, San Geminiano etc. Yet, the region of Tuscany called Maremma which is proximate to the sea offers a more intimate experience ( i.e. Fewer tourist) with local historical towns like Montemerano and Saturnia with the benefit of some very nice beaches....

Location was amazing for the final leg of our itialian trip. Close to Cascade del Mulino (gem with no entrance fee...) and close to medieval cities (bagnoregio, pitigilano). Small inn with friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent and we had amazing discussions with the staff. They provided recommendations for nearby restaurants and we found a excellent place for traditional pizza.

We got there when it was dark. It was spooky at first, as the house you encounter when you enter is not the nicely finished hotel building. However, it was a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed the dinner in a nice restaurant next door. The wife is a great cook and the breakfast was superb. The homemade croissant...

We were on a roadtrip and stayed here because one of our friends recommended this place. It's probably not the most cheap considering it is in the middle of nowhere but worth every single cent. Very clean, modern and well maintained rooms. Family takes a great care of you. Nice home baked cakes for breakfast. In the evening you can...

We enjoyed our stay with Maurizio very much. He made excellent recommendations for us to visit Montemerano instead of Saturnia for food. The public hotspring which was 5 mins away (by car) was surprisingly very real, the waterfall was extremely powerful. This visit was unplanned but we would recommend to all to stay at Poggio Bertino for its proximity to...

This is a great little agriturism place, close to the best hot water springs in Tuscany. There is a number of newer style rooms with a verandah that overlook a lovely, very well maintained property. There is a table and chairs outside to sit and enjoy the view or to have dinner if you wish. The rooms were on the...

We were really pleasantly surprised with what great value for money this hotel was. The rooms were very well appointed, spotlessly clean and spacious. We especially loved the double shower and separate wardrobes. Maurizio and Valy were wonderful hosts, very helpful and sincere.
