Exactly what I expected for the price. The location is unbeatable. The wifi is slower, the bathroom was dated, but the bed was comfy, no bugs anywhere, and the bedroom was tastefully re-modelled. We were on the 6th floor, and no road noise even though facing street. Had a view of the volcano, and the city scape.

The Gilfer has two nice elevators, climate control including AC and a restaurant. It is located in center city behind city hall. Within a block is the central square with nice outdoor cafes or indoor eating. The old cathdral, tour buses, and many shops are in the area. It is within two blocks of the Rose Chapel (all gold) and... More

I had a 3 night stay last weekend. The reception was nice and the bell boy, Gerry, was very helpful in getting a new safety box sent to my room, when the 1st one wasn't working. My room had a nice view of half the cathedral in the Zocalo. In the restaurant, I had a great breakfast for 80 pesos,... More

The hotel was very comfortable and it had a very fair price. Our room had an amazing view of the Zócalo and Catedrál of the city, giving it a great ambiance. The service was good and effective, except at the parking, which was a bit messy. The WiFi connection didn´t work very well.

This hotel has been my favourite one for many years; then things started to change and I had to look for better options. Prices started to get up, but the level of services didn't follow up. Besicdes, a few issues started to become more and more frequent, such as the internet having more and more trouble and the ever-lasting problem... More

We had a room on the seventh floor facing the Cathedral, wonderful. The hotel is located very close to the main square, the zocalo, which is a beautiful and full of life. The old city of Puebla has many interesting buildings and churches, all within walking distance from the hotel. The continental breakfast was adquate.

I can't say enough of how impressed I was with the service. I think Mexico in general has lower service than say the US. We have traveled to most major cities in Mexico and tons of small ones....this place was excellent. It was a refreshment from the heat of bad service we have experienced throughout the trip, which we expected.... More

This whole area of Puebla is a world heritage location and righty so. Incredibly charming area and the hotel is right in the middle of it. Just a block from the main square, the Zocalo and convenient to everything, shops, restaurants, markets, cafés, museums. Comfortable room, large bathroom with magnifying mirror and hair dryer; no fridge or coffee pot which... More

Puebla's downtown area is beautiful. It's full of people walking, historic buildings and delicious restaurants everywhere. This hotel is a block away from the Zocalo (the main square) and is surrounded by many amenities like drug stores, restaurants ans shopping centers.
