This hotel could be considered an excellent price/quality option in cenral Puebla if it weren't for the absolute lack of windows in almost all rooms. Even those overlooking the main street are window-less! So, if you suffer from claustrophobia this hotel is not for you, but if you don't care and wanna spend little to stay just next to the...

I stayed here for two nights (because, sadly, everywhere else was booked) and the experience was not comfortable at all. The rooms are way too small with no windows or ventilation. The bathroom is small and pretty basic. You'll find clean towels and clean sheets, but that's about it! The worse part was the noise; you can hear everything through...

I was a little concerned before booking about the negative reviews of this hotel, but those reviewers must have had unrealistic expectations of a three-star city center budget hotel (or very different experiences). The Provincia Express was clean, very comfortable and perfectly located - plus it's a kick to walk through the amazing tiled hallways every time you come and...

The hotel is an old building restorated some years ago in a Moorish-type of decoration which is nice to watch... it is very centric and clean, the problem is when you expect some features which may be normal but perhaps not for a budget hotel near the Zócalo... first thing is that many of the rooms (I believe all in...

I stayed here for three nights and thought it was a beautiful building - quite basic accommodation and in need of a lick of paint, but the hallways etc are gorgously tiled and the staff very friendly and helpful. Also, excellent location. It was a little noisy while I was there but that was partly because it was almost Independence...

I did not have a terrible experience here. I loved the character of the place, beautiful tiles. It was not busy when we stayed in June 2012. I shared a room on the 3rd floor with my friends (4 people 2 double beds for $50) private bathroom, no exterior windows, but high ceiling with a fan, and an interior window...

This charming hotel was bought in the early 1800s by an Arab businessman and is decorated with more tiles and Arab style motifs than you'd ever expect to find a place like Puebla. It even has a fresco painting of a mosque. If you have tile fetish, this is the place to go! The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms clean....

oh lonely planet, sometimes you are right and sometimes you are not. The hotel is quite old and the tiled walls and halls are beautiful but some upgrading must be done in a hurry. The first room we were shown had no window and smelled awful. I asked if they had anything with a balcony and luckily they did. 2...

Sometimes Lonely Planet really gets it wrong with their recommends – and they really got it wrong with this hotel. It is true that the hotel has interesting corridors with tons of tiles – but come and have a look at the interior but don’t stay a night. The rooms are horrible. The interior rooms don’t have a window and...

We found this hotel through the Lonely Planet, who are very enthusiastic about it. We received a room on the second floor in the corner, with no windows at all! We went back to the reception to ask if they could give us a room with a view, but they said they didn't have rooms with windows! Our room smelled...

“Make sure you get a room with windows !! in contrast the ones deep inside are very quiet”

“Ask to see the rooms first, so you don't get disappointed. They have many to choose from. Rooms on street side have windows for ventilation but are also more noisy. Pick the less of two evils”

“Front rooms larger and nicer but noisier, as they face the street. Bring earplugs if you're sound-sensitive and you'll do fine!”
