Casona Rosa had a warm, welcoming atmosphere, lively conversations with the English speaking proprietess and other guests. The breakfasts were amazing. Rose arranged everything from an excellent driver/guide for 2 days of sightseeing and exploring to helping arrange for lodging in the next city we visited -- all with a smile and great humor. She supports the local population of...

CasonaRose is a well established B&B just blocks off one of the most beautiful and important colonial centers in all of Mexico. This is a place for those who love, respect and want to learn more about the complexity that is Mexico, and especially the state of Michoacan . My first impression was of a hostal for older experienced travelers...

Rose is an amazing hostess who's there to help you with your visit to Michoacán. She is a great communicator as well! This was my second visit to the Casona Rosa. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends. The casona is located about three blocks south of the main street in Morelia, Avenida Madero and...

I had what essentially a one bedroom apartment, with living room, huge bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and dining area. It was nicely decorated and felt warm and homey. Mama Rosa greeted me like family. Location was great.

Thank you so much for this review. This is what makes my 'job' so enjoyable and satisfying... to have strangers as guests and then have them continue to return to Casona Rosa and become friends. It is a delight to have people love Morelia and Michoacan as much as I do, as this was my intention when starting up my...

Not much I didn't like. The location is perfect. Away from any noise, but close enough to walk to everything. The rooms are spacious, and perfectly decorated. The owner is the real gem. Able to recommended everything to see and do, we received a detailed communication after booking about how to get there, where to park, what to eat, what...

I arrived in Morelia a lone traveler. Rose, the owner, operator, and hostess of Casona Rosa, welcomed me to her lovely B&B, and made me feel so at home. She introduced me to her friends, set me up with an excellent driver, recommended resturants and "must see" sights in beautiful Morelia and the surrounding towns. I fell in love with...

My wife and I had a wonderful tome in Morelia, in Michoacán and especially at Casona Rosa. Rose was an exceptional host who went out her way to make our trip care-free. She made excellent restaurant recommendations. She accompanied us on a trip to visit nearby craft villages - because of her own genuine interest and knowledge - and arranged...

We stayed there over winter solstice. Rose is a great hostess and the place was so lovely with Christmas decorations. We even got Christmas cookies! Morelia is so fun to visit at that time of year. If you're going to visit the Mariposas Monarcas, definitely take the autopista though! The overland route through Cd. Hidalgo took several hours! I highly...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guests have said~while staying at Casona Rosa they have the feeling they're in a private hide-out of Frida Kahlo. Casona Rosa is an inn just two blocks from the main street and Morelia's famous pink cathedral. It is a romantic, intimate place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are five suites each with private bathroom, access to a large, fully-equipped kitchen, several sitting areas and a formal dining room. The suites are situated around an outdoor patio area for relaxing. Much attention was paid to decorating each suite with locally made handcrafts. Check out our Facebook page (La Casona Rosa Morelia) for updates on the latest Casona happenings...Enjoy and "Viva la vida!" ... more   less
