Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great spot, so nice having direct beach access from the boardwalk. The place is old but spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Walking distance to Bowls club for cheap eats and a night of barefoot bowls or bingo. The managers are really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Visited with four kids during school holidays. Great value for money for us. The hotel itself is a little dated, but our room didn't appear to be as modern as other rooms available. But, for the price we paid, was reasonable. The service offered was terrific. The bloke lent us surf rods to go fishing at the beach ... and even the tackle box too. They were both very helpful and friendly. We loved our time here and at Straddie. Will be coming back next school holidays.

Beachfront location is the selling factor here. If you want to see the ocean from your balcony you will need to be in a top floor apartment. You will also need to stock up on drinks and food as there is no restaurant on site, but the bowls club is just a little way up the street (next Foodworks about half an hour walk one way). The atmosphere feels gorgeous if you want some quiet island time with the board way connecting straight to the beach. The staff is personal and helpful- I had a great time here.

Having spent what appeared to weeks at the resort when it was just nine days we have certainly felt very relaxed here. We have been about and looked at other resorts locally but would only return here. Super location to the beach without any hassle or road to cross, it was full to capacity but still very quiet. Great location for our dive outfit we had booked with, and has the best choice for places to eat on your doorstep. The pool was never packed but the kids there with parents enjoyed it. Rooms are clean and tidy and we were in a studio no 27 which was ideal. Ok bathrooms are for one person at a time but we are on holiday. The hosts are very friendly and will help you enjoy your time there. They sorted a few minor issues we had straight away and give them top marks for

We have stayed at this Resort 4 times now over the years and without doubt it is the best place to stay on North Stradbroke Island. It is usually where we book our yearly holiday and my husband also took the boys there in March for a 'boys' time. We have 4 children and stay on the top floor as it has 3 bedrooms and an awesome view. The owners are extremely friendly, and are very accommodating to any needs. The resort has its own personal walkway to the beach, swimming pool with pool toys, BBQ's scattered around the tropical palm trees with chairs and tables. There is also a hairdressers and gift/fashion shop on site - but separate owners. It is a very well run, luxurious, relaxing, clean, safe, friendly resort. It is also very close to all the best shops, restaurants

If you ignore the fact that the rooms are jaded and tired, and you simply want a value for money beachside place to rest your head, then you will be perfectly happy here. The apartment was spotlessly clean, the bed small, but OK, the bathroom minuscule but functional. Our only real beef was the lounge which had seen better days and very uncomfortable to sit on unless you complimented the sagging springs with pillows. But as I said - value for money.

If you are a beach person this is a perfect place as a private boardwalk links hotel and beach. If you are travelling over to the island as a foot passenger, the connecting bus stops right outside the hotel. If taking a car, there's parking at the hotel. I was warmly welcomed and given lots of (verbal) information about the island. The apartments are spacious (I had a one-bed suite) though mine was in need of some TLC. The small bathroom in particular had had a lot of wear and tear and could do with a full refit. The bed was really comfortable with crisp fresh linen. I had a large balcony looking out over the ocean (through trees), big enough to host a dinner party. The kitchen utensils provided are carefully counted so ensure all is put back and accounted for. Also you

The rooms are quite large but are a bit dated. The place is clean and well equipped but if you want modern facilities this is not the place but it is probably as good as most on the island. Staff are friendly and the pool is fine and it is right on the beach.

lovely motel spacious rooms, king bed would have been lovely, beautiful outdoor areas, pool and bbq areas throughout complex, short stroll to beach along designated boardwalk. Eatery next to motel has excellent food, foreign workers are a bit short on the english language though. Complementary live music added to the beach atmosphere....even though the motel rooms are a bit dated it only enhanced the feel for island living.

Here we are again for our 7th visit to Anchorage, stayed for 3 nights. The room was a studio on the 2nd floor,i was a little disappointed not to be on the top floor as we usualy are,but even so we had a little sea view and saw whales going by,so not so bad. On arrival Damian filled us in on the changes that have happened since our last stay, then up to our room. Room was a studio with an extra single bed for our Grandson,we knew what to expect so no issues with the room at all good kitchen and bathroom facilities, beds were comfy pillows were fluffy so only needed one. It was realy windy over our stay and the tides weren't right for a proper swim in the sea so just had a paddle, there was a strong sweep running and maybe as a warning to guests a sign could be put up,especialy
