Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good location and resort. The kids and i had a great time and Damien the owner is a great bloke and full of useful information. The room was clean and tidy, everything worked, well equipped kitchen. Pool was great and the beach was only a short.

7 nights in studio room, ocean facing, above the pool. Where else could you lie on the (very comfortable) bed and see the sea? The room was clean, very well equipped and in a great location. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Make sure to visit the dolphins at Amity, watch the sunset and do the North Gorge Walk. Many thanks Damien for your hospitality.

We arrived early but the friendly manager allowed us to have the apartment early. The main bedroom was lovely, with beautiful views of the ocean. Unfortunately we had the other bedroom that was more like a prison cell with small, high windows onto the walkway. There was one bathroom. A good, basic apartment. The pool was nice and it was great to have the boardwalk onto the beach.

Again we have stayed at this resort and cannot fault it. This time we were on the 1st level, which I think is better and you have a nicer view of the pool and walkway down to the beach. Rooms are very clean and tidy, air conditioning and fans work a treat. Cooking facilities are great. Pool is always very clean and an excellent way to refresh after a swim at the beach. Onsite managers are very helpful as well. Didn't eat at the bowls club this time, had a very nice meal next door to the resort at Cisco's, very good portion sizes and great atmosphere. Huge windows so you can hear the ocean at night and enjoy the breeze. Will definitely be staying here again.

We stayed here for a couple of nights the accommodation is old but clean. There are no lifts in the building, all accommodation is reached via the stairwell. No air conditioning in the apartments just a ceiling fan. Something that I did find strange was having to empty the bins and take out the rubbish on departure.

Can't wait to get back to Anchorage at North Straddie for our annual 16 days just after Christmas 2017. Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely down to earth hosts, Damian & Leanne. The views are amazing through the melaleucas, boardwalk straight onto a pristine beach, spotless units and 2 great clean bbq areas. All the room staff are excellent - walk to the pub or bowling club for a meal or catch the courtesy bus to the surf club - a magical spot! Doesn't get any better than this.

Great location short walk to the beach. Very private and very quiet. Even though the place was full never felt crowded, if you look for location over luxury this is your place on Straddie. Well priced and great value could not fault it wull be back.

From the moment I called so see if a room was available I felt valued. (We had checked into another hotel and it was not up to scratch so we asked and after some stress got a refund.) We walked into our room at The Anchorage and it sparkled! Lovely decor beautifully clean and a beautiful balcony. The sound of the waves was magical. The kitchen was very well appointed and the little dishwasher a gem! The internet is wonderful we did not have any drop outs. YAY! We had the best time and are planning another visit asap! Highly recommend!!!!

We recently stayed at Anchorage for a short mid-week break and had a lovely stay. The room was much bigger than I had expected, and it was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. I particularly liked the long deck stretching the length of the apartment. Loved being able to walk straight across to the beach. As we have kids, we prefer swimming in a flagged area, so it was only a couple of minutes drive to Cylinder.
