From the moment we arrived Jan & Peter did everything to make sure we were comfortable for our short stay. . The room was well furnished and very clean – comfortable bed, lounge chairs, TV, DVD, CD player, fridge with tea and coffee supplied, also a big clean bathroom with fluffy towels. There are two rooms available located under the house; the rooms are on either side of the house separated by your car parking. They are quite private with a small paved outdoor area at the front of each room. The complimentary port was a nice touch to finish the night.
Breakfast is served upstairs on the verandah overlooking the ocean - a wonderful way to start the day. A great selection of cereals & juices followed by a cooked breakfast - you order it the night before. From the verandah you can often spot the odd whale in the distance
It’s an easy 10 minute or less walk to the beach or pub. Once you’re on the beach you can walk for hours in either direction.
The Island is quite laid back, not touristy like the Gold Coast, so don’t come looking for nightlife and lots of bars, it’s more beaches and wildlife, birds, whales etc. Only the one pub with a superb view looking north towards Moreton Island,
Try the Bowls club for a cheap excellent meal $10 roasts with vegetables and well priced drinks – seems like there’s a dinner special each night of the week. Located about half way between the pub & Adder Rock
A car is not a necessity but it does make getting around a lot easier, you can catch a bus from where the ferry from the main land docks to Point Lookout.
As a frequent traveler I am fussy when it comes to where we stay. The Straddie Views B&B ticked all my boxes and if we are ever back in Point Lookout we would not hesitate to return

We've stayed at Straddie B&B twice now and it's really lovely. Clean, spacious and quiet. Fabulous breakfasts on the deck overlooking the ocean. Lovely hosts and great location, being close to everything while not being in the relatively busy hub of Point Lookout. If you don't plan on bringing your car onto the island, just be mindful that it's quite a steep walk from the main road. Having said that, we've come by foot on both occasions because the charm of the place makes up for the walk and we'd rather stay here than in of those overpriced soulless hotel rooms on offer.

I stayed at Straddie Views Bed and Breakfast Point Lookout in June 2013. The hosts are warm and welcoming and have done a wonderful job with the bed and breakfast.
The accommodation is cosy and quaint and the food is fantastic.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation to any couple looking for a romantic little getaway!

My partner and I stayed two nights over the weekend and it was just magical. We are in our mid twenties. What separates this place from any other hotel/b&b establishment is the service. Peter and Jan aren't about making money, they really care about you. My partner and i felt like we were waving goodbye to mum and dad (and this is in a good way). We were genuinely sad to be leaving.
The rooms are really lovely; clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. The area was quiet and we really enjoyed hanging out the front with the cosie garden with a fish pond.
A highlight for us was the breakfast. A plate of the freshest fruit followed by a breakfast you get to choose the day previous - bacon, eggs, sausage, tomato, mushroom, and toast. Accompanying this was lovely juice, coffee and cereals. We remarked to ourselves that of the 17 breakfast we had last year whilst touring Europe, none of them compared to this!
While eating breakfast we saw whales easily from the view on the front deck. This was as magical as people say it is. Peter let me borrow his binoculars which was a lovely touch.
I would recommend straddie views to anyone and we can't wait to return

Easily a highlight of our Straddie stay! We too can't say enough about this incredible couple who pretty much bend over backwards to ensure you get the most of what Straddie has to offer. The rooms are immaculate, furnished beautifully and come with chocolates & port. "Can-cook-Jan" whips up a mean breakfast, we almost couldn't wait to go to sleep of an evening just so we could enjoy Jan's cooking, the views from the upper deck are spectacular, it's a very relaxed way to start your day. We can't recommend this little B & B enough. See you again soon, Ben & Lisa.

We had a fantastic stay at Straddie Views B&B. Jan and Peter made sure we had everything we needed and we had a great relaxed stay. The room was comfortable and spacious and had a few nice touches which certainly made us feel welcome. The breakfasts were a real highlight. There is nothing better then starting the day with a beautiful meal with a stunning view. We look forward to returning soon.

We stayed at The B&B for two nights in September. very comfortable and inviting and we were made to feel very welcome. Lovely breakfast on the deck with sea views. but be prepared for walk up a steep hill if you don't have a car. The bus stop is 10 minutes away and the hill is steep when returning to the house. There is a restaurant (good food) across the road. Ron & Sue - England

This friendly B&B is in a good location very close to Point Lookout. The hosts Jan and Peter are extremely friendly and make you feel very comfortable and at home. The rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. The breakfast is every bit as good as previous reviews make out with fresh fruits, juices, tea coffee, made to order cooked breakfasts and various cereals and milk available. All served on the upstairs deck looking over to the sea! Everything was exactly as we wanted! Thanks so much for a great stay!
