We went for lunch here after being recommended it by family & we were not disappointed! The decor is really nice, light & airy, the service was very friendly and the food was delicious! Two of us had the falafel & sweet potato burger & my partner had fish & chips, all the food was of a good standard. My...

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review. You are quite right, you can't please all of the people all of the time but I am very pleased that you enjoyed your visit and hope that you will return

Stayed in the family room - excellent room and facilities, meals were lovely (big family 3 course dinner) and breakfast was delicious with locally sourced ingredients. Will definitely stay again - in fact my daughter is insisting on it.

Stayed overnight in a double garden room. Very nice and friendly staff, for the b&b and pub. Room was very comfortable and we were able to bring our dog along. Breakfast was really good, yummy, good portions and with plenty of choice. We really enjoyed our stay and will no doubt return.

Stayed at the Victory overnight with a friend. All staff made us feel welcome, they were efficient, helpful and friendly. We had the twin garden room. The room was perfect for us, very comfortable beds with quality linen. Everything you need for a short and comfortable stay was provided. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice offered, it was...

Amazing apartment for the family! Fabulous food and top class accommodation. Lots to see and do including a boat trip round Mersea! The landlady and landlord welcome you like long lost friends! Couldn't fault a single thing and we can't wait to go back!

Ideal location for a quiet break by the sea. The food is very good, portions are good value. Lots of good restaurants nearby too for variety. Accommodation is clean and bright rooms making for a relaxed stay. Our double bed was a bit on the small side, but then again I think we booked the smallest of the 8 rooms...

We received a very warm, friendly welcome to our balcony room. The room was small, but balcony nice. There was some unnecessary holiday memorabilia on the walls & teddy bears on the bed, which is a little creepy in an adult room. The TV was in a very bizarre position, in the left hand corner of the room. Bed comfortable,...

Although on the day we visited the Victory it offered lively and friendly bar service , the range of beers on tap was very disappointing (pending beer festival aside) and the food was tepid and almost inedible...indeed our son who normally relishes the prospect of fish & chips aside the nautical delights of the harbour could not stomach what was...

Thanks for your review. Unfortunately we are a tied pub and can only offer the beers available through our pub company, although they do make an exception for the Beer Festival. Apologies if the food was tepid, had we been told we would have replaced it

We went with 4 kids, and 4 adults, ordered and told would be 35 minutes. 1 hour later and several other people served who ordered after we asked where our food was, no reply from the dippy boy, asked a girl, who came and told us our order had not gone through, and they would rush it through. 35 minutes...
