This place stunk. We booked for the weekend but left after the first night. Food was inedible and the staff were rude. Hope Cove is a lovely area, but avoid this hotel! Ive attached photos showing the general cleanliness (the lack thereof!). We complained to the hotel manager but was dismissed immediately.

Well have just spent the weekend at Sand Pebbles Hotel, Hope Cove South Devon. A superb weekend with excellent food, beautifully prepared and served. All the staff were very attentive, and so helpful. Something that really helps when one of the party is disabled! Hotel was even better than our last visit! Already booked our next visit.!

Very welcoming, great rooms especially the front ones we had out of season). Previous owners of the Hope and Anchor with a little more up market property and facilities. Rate was very fair, casual about credit cards, good b/fast and newspapers in small comfortable lounge and terrace. Food ok in the evenings although nothing special. Parking was great. Great welcome...

We stayed here for 4 nights from 29th December. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, and the view of the cove from the restaurant is breathtaking. The food in the restaurant is very good. Breakfast includes several hot options including a full English, and there are also several cereals available and toast. The evening meals are also of a...

This was our third stay at Sand Pebbles. So no guessing - we love the place. Being 'out of season' it was quiet. Ian and his staff did not let the standards slip. The room was clean, well heated and bed really comfortable. Despite being quiet the full menu was available in the restaurant, well cooked and presented. Thank you...

We stayed here for a single night. The area and the dog were really nice. The room was very small but clean and for a night ok. The owner was friendly but a little bit desinteressted. The breakfast was ok, but not more.

We had the family suite which was great for us - no view as it is at the back but we benefitted from the patio area and being able to come and go through the patio door . The décor was a little dated but the rooms were clean - the cleaning ladies were very friendly and helpful always willing...

We spent two nights at Sand Pebbles and loved it. The whole place had such a homely, relaxed feel about it. The food was lovely, the meat coming from the owners farm, fish was locally caught and the desserts made by a lady in the village. A rare treat. It was great to be able to walk to the coast...

On arriving at the hotel we noticed the carpets were filthy, not recent dirt but years of grime. On entering the bedroom it all looked ok, a bit dated but ok. On closer inspection we noticed the valance sheet was extremely grubby with other people's hair, blood, dog hair and God knows what else on it. This was changed immediately...

Hopefully other guests will see that this review is absolute nonsense, which is quite clear if you read the other reviews of the Hotel. An item was brought down to us with 1 hair on it, no blood or other mess just one hair. This was replaced immediately upon request. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay...
