A long overdue review of our stay in July. Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at the Grand Velas. From start to finish the experience was wonderful. All of the staff are great, our personal concierge was Rocio and she was so helpful and responsive and made any request seem effortless. The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. The food is top class, and such a great selection of restaurants. The pool area was absolutely stunning and the pool staff were friendly and helpful, thank you Ahmal and friends. The kids club staff were so lovely, and we felt like our kids were very well looked after there, they kept begging to go!! We had a Dream Art photo session which produced some wonderful memories of our stay, thank you Ricardo for the amazing photos and Carolina for bearing with us when we were picking them out! All in all we had an amazing top class experience and can’t wait to return.…
I have always frowned on all-inclusive experiences (for myself as a luxury traveler) because images of drunken guests, loud partying and unappetizing buffets crowded my imagination. My perspective took a 180-degree turn after visiting Grand Velas Los Cabos. The entry-level guest room (which was the category of room we had) was 1000 square feet. Yes, you read that correctly: 1000 square feet. Jacuzzi bath, extremely comfortable bed and pillows, awesome amenities, turn-down service with chocolates and plenty of bottled water refreshed daily, and a well-stocked mini bar are yours for the taking. Of course, there is a Nespresso machine and full tea options, as well. Every room faces the ocean and the views are gorgeous. GORGEOUS! There are 7 dining options here -- and let me remind you - this is ALL-INCLUSIVE. From Michelin star dining to Mexican, Italian, steak & seafood, French cuisine and more. My husband and I tried the Italian and steak & seafood & Mexican and they were all fantastic. The service was superb everywhere at the resort. Our butler Brenda made our dining reservations daily. The poolside dining and services are also spot-on. Great menu, comfortable chaise lounges, tons of umbrellas and towels. One thing you need to know: In winter the sun starts to set around 4ish...So you'll want to catch the rays early as the property faces east. But the absolute highlight of our stay - the pinnacle experience which will have us coming back for sure - is the incredible spa. This is a heavenly place with heavenly experiences guaranteed. It is enormous. Yet so intimate and organic feeling. Earthy and luxurious. There is a 7-step water ceremony not to be missed: Sauna, steam with chromotherapy, ice room, mud room, sensory shower, polar pool and Jacuzzi, thermal lounges... And the cherry on top??? The sensation pool with water cascades, bubble beds, multisensory jets, bubble geyser, and warm/cold pools...The Sensation Pool is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!! My massage therapist was Aidee (who greeted us in the lobby upon check-in for a shoulder massage with our welcome cocktail). The massage was so amazing I am depressed I am sitting in my office in Beverly Hills, California and remembering rather than being there in person RIGHT NOW! Now the spa services are not included, they require separate payment, but it is so worth it -- honestly, I cannot stress (excuse the pun) it enough. If you have small kids -- or teenagers and still want to get away in luxurious style and not worry about whether they'll have a great time and allow you some down-time -- you won't believe what the hotel offers. A full playground, strollers (2 kinds), cribs, porta-potties for the little tykes, DIAPERS, everything you will need and WON'T HAVE TO TRAVEL WITH!!!!!!!!! There is a TEEN CLUB with video game pods, pool table, disco dance floor, and a BAR! You have to see this to believe it. We will be returning for another amazing 4 day weekend as soon as the next national holiday is upon us. I'm leaving my bags by the door!…
My husband and I decided to spend our 10th anniversary at Grand Velas Cabos. It was such a memorable, relaxing and fantastic trip. The service was top notch. I am an avid researcher and when it came to finding a great hotel, I used trip advisor. I had narrowed my search between Grand Velas and another all inclusive with a french name. The other one was an adult only resort. Online the two seemed similar. However, in person Grand Velas blew the competition away. Grand Velas had beautiful greenery and landscaping and the other was white and bland. All the flowers at Grand Velas made everything so beautiful to look at not to mention smell. The service was 5 stars. We enjoyed all the delicious food. We appreciated the service especially from Christian and Bernardino in Azul. Our concierge Laura Rodriguez was very responsive , thoughtful and extremely helpful. Laura even surprised us with roses, rose pedals and a warm bath after our anniversary dinner. It was so romantic. Emmanuel We decided to enjoy the spa as well. I've had many massages in my life but Aide made me feel so relaxed and pampered. The entire trip felt like a dream. Every morning, we'd enjoy hot tea and loved enjoying the sound and view of the ocean. I did like that all rooms faced the ocean. We appreciated that the resort wasn't crowded and really catered to all the guests. I'm very picky when it comes to hotels and Grand Velas is a resort above all the rest out there. I was slightly disappointed that the transportation was a separate fee but that was my only critique of the entire hotel. We got the ambassador suite and it was right above the lobby. The hotel was so great that we can't wait to go back but this time with our two kids. In reading other reviews I thought it was strange so many people mentioned names of the staff but after visiting I can understand why since every staff member was so happy to be apart of the Grand Velas family.…
Full disclosure, I'm generally not a fan of all inclusives because I like to venture out and sample the local culture/cuisine but if you're looking for a chill spot to relax and renew, this is it 100! Beautiful location beautiful staff, beautiful service, beautiful food. Everything is luxurious without being stuffy or ostentatious. There are ample restaurant choices with food that is inventive enough to not get bored. The bar service is probably the best I've experienced while traveling. The drinks were consistently well prepared and there wasn't one thing I wanted that wasn't available. Staff were (to a person) warm, friendly and welcoming. Activities were available and fun. The general vibe of the resort guests was diverse, approachable, friendly, and fun. While this might not be important to some, we like to travel where we feel comfortable meeting folks and engaging. Bottom line, when my sometimes "reluctant traveler" boyfriend wakes up everyday and says "we're coming back here next year," I have found my bliss! …
Grand Velas Los Cabos is a phenomenal resort, perfect for families or couples. We traveled there as a couple and cannot wait to return. Every staff member is friendly and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure you have a great experience. Each guest has a concierge/butler assigned that you can text with requests. The property is easy to navigate and very clean. I’ve never been in cleaner pool bathrooms in my life! The rooms are modern and huge, with comfortable beds, seating areas and large balcony – each overlooking the ocean. The bathroom has plenty of room and includes a shower with multiple settings, bathtub, walk-in closet, dual sinks. Everything you could want. The pools are spectacular. There are two family pools, one adults-only pool. Jesus Miranda and his partner Eduardo took excellent care of us poolside each day. They were constantly checking in and could not have delivered better service. Top shelf alcohol is served at each bar. There were plenty of chairs and towels, plus special touches like steel water bottles and complimentary sunscreen. Abril, one of the hotel managers, is excellent and should be lauded for her problem solving skills. Our concierge Enrique did a great job educating us on the property and making dinner reservations. We ate breakfast and lunch in Azul – which always had a massive, delicious buffet with options for all appetites and diets. Chef Irving Melchor knows what he is doing and Carmen Urbano made the best tacos I’ve ever eaten. Our favorite dinner was at Velas 10 – amazing steak and seafood with excellent service and ambiance. The Mexican and Italian restaurants were also highlights. The servers aim to please and the chefs were going around the room checking in on guests to make sure their meal was perfect. One tip: make sure your reservation has each person in your group listed IN WRITING. I made our reservation via a travel agency and confirmed via phone directly with the resort, but the email I received from the travel agency only listed one room, not two individuals. This caused significant confusion at check-in and at one point I was asked for the name of the person I spoke with to confirm the reservation was for two. Bizarre request as I doubt people remember the name of a random customer service rep you spoke with months ago? We ended up paying more money than expected, but received an upgraded room and it was worth it. Any reservation or fee confusion will favor the resort, not the customer, so just make sure your reservation is correct, in writing, down to the individual, before showing up. Grand Velas deserves the crown as #1 in Los Cabos. It is expensive, but for a special vacation, it is worth every penny. We will return.…
"I chose the wellness room for the package but probably wouldn't choose it again. We didn't use the second floor at all."Read full review
