Riu never disappoints! The resort was super fun and I went solo and had a great time staying mostly on the property for five days enjoying all the amenities even with covid. I would just suggest more staff to help answer customers questions and perhaps more fresh food, and the pipes broke which stopped the water for a bit. But other than that beautiful property and such nice staff and amazing views everywhere!
I traveled with child during her Spring Break. The location and amenities were excellent for myself as an adult and for my child. The staff were attentive in addressing all our concerns and were quick to inform us of the other amenities the facility has available.
a below average resort, bed was barely sleep-able and food hardly edible... luckily we were pretty drunk so those things weren't a huge issue, still so bad though. everyone was friendly/good service. resort was pretty rundown, views were nice. overall it was just "nice enough" will prob never go back and i will definitely do more research before i go to another all inclusive. you should stay at the palace - not the santa fe - if you want a bed you can sleep in and food you can actually eat. also palace had much nicer pool / beach views.
Our resort (RUI SANTA FE) was not ok! The Spring breakers made it an awfully bomb trip for my husband and I.... other than that the excursions were great, the food was horrible, Didn't get any sleep from music playing all night, the staff was rude, they catered to the spring breakers.. when we 1st got there around 11am our room was not ready. So we were told to go have lunch and come back around four o'clock....when we finally got to the Room, blood was on the sheets the phone didn't work, there was no hot water and of course I was livid!!! Our villa had a great ocean front view. thats the only positive i can give this resort! The bellman had to communicate to the front desk via his walkie talkie. No issues were resolved until the next day. i complained that we need a blanket for our room which we never got! they catered to the spring breakers we've never had this problem during this time of the year for our anniversary however since COVID they moved Spring breakers time up which we had no idea.... wouldn't go back there and will never recommend!…
My recommendation is to avoid this place if you are looking for a family trip. Don't have anything against the people who visit during spring but staff is not trained properly on handling this volume of spring breakers. Not to mention low budget drinks, bad food in some of the buffets and restaurants. Specially El Medano, do not go to this place in the building, avoid it if you can. Both waiters and cooks are not trained to handle consumers and quality. They are not organized, they treat you as if they were giving you free food and worst yet, sarcasm on the way they reply to you is more evidently than their willing to help out. First time in RIU hotels and definitely my last time. If you can, spend a few hundred bucks and look for a better hotel.
