Hotel's Favourite
I recently travelled to Cabo with a friend and stayed at the Marina Fiesta Resort. It is a beautiful resort located right on the marina in Cabo San Lucas. We were within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and shopping. Everyone we met was very friendly, and many thanked us for helping their economy. January is normally a very busy time of year, peak tourist season, and there were not many people there. We tried many restaurants around the marina, and they all had the most delicious food. Truly a great experience. At the resort we spent just a little time at the pool one afternoon (the weather was mostly in the lower to mid 70's - not my kind of water weather). It was kept very clean, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. The resort itself was very clean and modern, our room was spacious and had a very nice bathroom, and a balcony that overlooked the pool area with a view of the marina. They had some very good COVID processes in place - we went through a device they called the Mexican shower nearly every time we left the resort grounds, and they took our temperature upon arrival. The only remotely negative thing I would have to say is that the breakfast they served out by the pool (we ate there one morning) was mostly cold food. By that I mean that it had gone cold. Not the best I had in Cabo by far. Again the staff was great though. I would highly recommend this resort.

We arrived late in the day, tired and starving. Checked in then sat with the concierge Padma where she told us we would be going to a welcome breakfast at their sister hotel for $50 deposit the following day(s). We’ve been through the time share pitch so we said no thank you, we weren’t interested in time share presentations. She promised this was not a timeshare and would not not let it go. All we wanted was to get to our room and find some food and she pitched us this breakfast until we had to get rude, last way we wanted to start our vacation. We said no at least 10 times and even had another employee come over and said they would waive the deposit and again reiterated it wasn’t a time share thing. After we sternly said NO again she said ok and she just stopped talking. Didn’t tell us how to get to our room, any details about the resort, how anything worked, how to find dinner that night, she just said “ok have a good day” and we were on our way. Found our way to dinner and while we were eating, one of the workers grabbed 7 brochures and continued to go over every single excursion promising if we booked with them we would get all kinds of discounts. This happened every time at the Mexican restaurant that’s tied to the hotel. Not only are you sold from vendors every inch on the marina, you have to worry about the restaurant staff too, so annoying!! My advice, if they ask if it’s your first time to Cabo, say no and that you’ve already seen the other sister hotel. Talked to people later that had been tricked into the breakfast and they were so pissed. It was a straight up time share pitch for 2 1/2 hours. The staff completely lied to us. Other than the incessant selling, we had an amazing time. The pool staff, especially Angel, and wait staff were all amazing and very prompt with drink orders around the pool. Had an AMAZING couples massage, my girl was Karen, she was superb. Things to note about the “all-inclusive”. This is our first resort where you had the option of not going all inclusive. So they have higher quality alcohol and meals at the restaurants that are not included. Make sure you’re paying attention to this as someone we spoke to ordered the lobster thinking it was included and then was charged $200! The free food included was still fantastic though, much better than other all inclusive we’ve been to. But they won’t let you take to-go boxes which really stinks. I would have given a 4 star if the staff would have just left us alone. Vendors are going to sell you everywhere, and that’s just Mexico, but I don’t think it’s ok to be harassed by your own hotel.
