Detailed Reviews
The restaurant itself is open and airy and also presented a welcoming feel.
The staff were also very very nice and friendly.
The menu for a pub was quite good and the prices reasonable.
For the first time I had a Vegetarian meal which was Schnitzel with mash and vegetables which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I highly recommend.

This hotel is in the suburbs of Newcastle, which is a lovely old town a couple hours north of Sydney. The room is like the pictures, beds are really good and shared bathroom is nice and clean. The owner is beyond friendly and very accommodating. Hotel is above a pub, but it closes at 12 o’clock at night. So no sleepless nights. Hotel is located in a lovely area with shops and some good breakfast and lunch restaurants! Perfect hide out for a visit to Newcastle and a wine tasting tour in Hunter Valley.

The room was super clean and the beds really comfy. but it only has a fan. The manager of the hotel was amazing and helped us cool down a room it was a hot 30-degree day. You couldn't possibly stay here in the heat of summer which is a shame as its a perfect location.
Please install aircon and we will return. One other crazy little feature was the shared bathroom... we meet some other women staying and we all agreed with more shelving and two showers working it would be much better. It was like being on a school camp. We all laughed about it.

This would have to be my very favourite pub to dine in around Newcastle.
Every meal is tasty and generous in size at a reasonable price, esp lamb shanks, cutlets, pizza, schnitzel.
The wine list is good, the service is prompt but make sure you book since it is very popular.
