This is not really a review but just to report that I wanted to reserve at Casa Lereé for february 2015. Following recommandations on TA I called and talked to Juanita who let me know she had retired and was not renting her rooms any longer !

I chose Casa Leree for our one night in San Ignacio on the basis of other reviews, and I think we were all glad I did. Juanita was most accommodating, kind, helpful and informative. She e-mailed us driving directions from Loreto, along with a hand-drawn map of San Ignacio town, and information on the camps at the lagoon, bus schedules,...

I loved this place. It is simple but has the most wonderful vibe one could ever imagine. And Juanita was the most gracious host. She is a wealth of information and has so much history about the town and it's people. The gardens are so precious. I could have stayed longer just to absorb it all.

Your other options include some average looking motels, one of the Mision hotels (expensive and over-rated) or a yurt owned by Canadians and full of gringos that is not within walking distance of town. While the yurts are cool and the property they are on really beautiful, staying in yurts owned by Canadians just didn't fit the authentic experience we...

San Ignacio is a special place in Baja California Sur, a village lost in time, and Casa Leree is the perfect place to contemplate the spirit of the oasis and the surrounding desert landscape. Jane Ames is a charming and generous host, with maps of walking trails and a library full of Baja lore. The rooms are comfortable and clean,...

Casa Leree is just off the main plaza in the wonderful little oasis town of San Ignacio. The aura of history permeates the buildings and grounds of Casa Leree. The very welcoming owner, Juanita Ames, has developed extensive historical material. I found myself transported by perusal of the photos and the timeline of local history. The accommodations are not for...

After many trips to San Ignacio, I finally discovered Casa Leree, tucked just off the Plaza. I only spent one night, and wish I could have stayed longer! Juanita was a wonderful host and Casa Leree was a very comfortable place to stay. I arrived in the early evening, and friends were meeting up with me in the morning. With...

A comfortable room, close to the town square and historic mission. Juanita, an ex pat American, has gathered a great deal of historic material on the area. There are 3 rooms available, two smaller rooms with a shared bath and a larger room in the house. Don't expect a 4 star US style hotel, this is more like staying at...

If you are planning a trip to San Ignacio, to see the gray whales, this is the place to stay for a night or more before or after your trip. We stayed there 5 years ago as a couple and returned as a family of 6, including 7 & 9 year old Grandkids. If traveling as a couple, the room...

Juanita is a wonderful host with an amazing depth of knowledge and love for her adopted community. She has assembled a treasure trove of books, photos, and artifacts to help you understand the natural and human history of this fascinating region. Casa Leree offers a comfortable stay for the weary visitor. I wish we had been able to stay for...

“The only room I was in was the Ranchito, and it was perfect for 2 singles. It would also be good for a couple and a child. All the rooms seemed to open onto the courtyard, and everything seemed very peaceful and quiet.”

“For more space or for socializing, the "La Hermosa" suite is in the main house and adjacent to the kitchen and museum. If you want more privacy, choose one of the two smaller rooms in a separate wing.”
