Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked an overnight stay in our small tent for myself and my granddaughter. I was a little apprehensive as the weather that night was going to be appalling! But despite that we had a brilliant time. Tracey was really welcoming and recognised me from a previous stay with my partner. The facilities were ample and very clean. The site is very organised with extra toilets open for the summer season. We also used the dog exercise area, which was unexpected as we didn’t bring a dog, but my granddaughter managed to befriend one! We are already planning our next trip there next year. The extra bonus is that it’s really close to the fantastic Donkey Sanctuary.

Travelled in our motor home and spent 4 nights here. We didn’t book and was happy with no electric, you may need to book if you want this as looks like it gets busy. Very friendly staff and down to earth site. Would have no hesitation staying here again when we are in Devon.

What can I say, the weather was horrible, rain rain and more rain! But this is England so no surprises there really. Chris and Tracey worked hard to make sue everyone was safe and secure. Everywhere the ground was waterlogged and would have ended up as a muddy field without their intervention. They managed to get everyone paid on hard ground with no loss of cars getting bogged down. No one can predict the weather and if you're camping you take your chances. On our last day the sun came out and what a lovely view. A superb peaceful site with great owners and eventually blue skies!

Amazing stay. The owners are great and will help any which way the can. The dog absolutely loves going there and the dog area is really helpful to exercise them without going too far. A few kilometers from Branscombe beach and about 6km from Beer following the coastal paths. Family site, so nice and peaceful from 2300. Would fully recommend staying here!

What a peaceful little gem of a place. We stayed in the caravan for 2 nights for our last UK Summer holiday, for a bit of luxury after our tent. We loved it. Set in a little area of the campsite, secluded, everything we needed, just to relax. We even saw a plane take off from the airfield - so cool. The owners were friendly and always on hand if needed. The rest of the campsite looked good and we've vowed to return with our tent next Summer. The views were awesome. There is a pub down the country lane you can walk to. The beach at Branscombe is a little treasure we never knew existed as well. You can walk there but we didn't do this, but I believe it would take about 40 mins. We arrived early to Branscombe so we drove down to village and walked along by the stream to the beach, beautiful. The cafe/restaurant was lovely. So thanks Branscombe Campsite, we loved it. We will return.

A beautiful campsite with the most amazing owners! On our 4th day we ran into trouble with our caravan charging system. Tracey, Chris and their befriended electrician could not be more helpful! With their help and support we are up &running again. You really feel that they are here for their guests. The site has many returning, HAPPY campers. We will definitely book here again; the site is so popular that you really need to keep your eye on availability well in advance. The owners keep it very clean and well maintained and they offer loads of space between pitches. A room with games and a little shop with essentials, ice cream and sweets keep both adults and kids happy. Shower and toilet facilities are great, there is also a utility room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer that both operate on coins. In good weather flights take place to everyone's amazement and enjoyment: what an unusual sighting ! There's a great sense of community here, certainly owing to the people in charge. Thank you for all your hospitality Tracey and Chris!!! This is our first time here but we really appreciate your very warm reception & friendliness.

It was our first outing in our vw van so we only stayed 1 night, just to try it out really. The site was clean, tidy, had toilets (plenty), showers, washing up sinks, a games room, a little shop and friendly staff who were helpful and kind. What more could you want!? Blocks are provided to raise your bbq etc off of the grass.....please use them! The location is peaceful and up at the top of Branscombe. You can walk down the hill to a pub The Fountain Head, which is a small friendly pub, we loved it. Feels old and traditional in a lovable way. You an walk to the beach, it is all up hill coming back though but a lovely walk, taking around about 40 minutes I suppose depending on pace, less or more. We would definitely recommend this site and wouldn't hesitate to stay again! Thank you!

We booked Branscombe Airfield as a last minute weekend break and hadn't done much research on it. Without knowing what to expect we were very happy when we arrived. The site is very well kept and has a fantastic layout with plenty of space. Our two kids loved the play area and the large area for playing with holiday friends. The facilities are good and the additional porter loos are a nice touch dotted around the site for campers convenience. The little shop stocks enough basics and treats to keep you going between trips to the Lidl in Sidmouth and the pizza wagon on a Friday night is a bonus too. Locally there's a lovely beach with walks down in Branscombe itself, though you do need to drive to it, Beer is just 5 minutes away and we'll worth a visit too. The Donkey Sanctuary down the road is a great day out and we loved the maze. The added bonus of the odd light aircraft flying in is great too. We will definitely be back.

First time here and it won't be the last. What a lovely site. Plenty of open space, decent toilets and showers and a very freindly welcome. Caravan pitches are nice and flat with those facing the sea having a gradual slope but its nothing serious. The last half a mile coming from the A3502 is along a narrow but very quiet road. The steep valley a few hundred metres north of the site is the only real choke point but this is Devon so you expect that sort of thing. Verydog friendly with a large fenced of exercise area is a nice bonus. The site is so well situatuted for Branscombe Beach, Beer and Sidmouth where the coastal walks are hard but rewarding - the River Otter is a must, especially in the summer heat.
