The hotel is a shortish walk from the main square in San Miguel - downhill going. The hotel comprises several buildings: reception and the restaurant & bar in one, the pool in another (closed when we were there), and rooms in many. Our room was across the street and up steps. Luckily the service is good so there are people...

We had a daily visit to the bar. Andres was always our server. He was so charming! Be sure to visit and order a Tamarin margarita!! The bar's windows open onto Hospicio street and this spot provides a wonderful rest.

Its a nice hotel, good service when we arrive and the room that we stayed in, was ok. They have other rooms that are better and a great pool that is in another building. At the time we check out, they charge us a lot in taxes and fees, more than we've expected! Also, there is no parking lot nearby...

After hearing about San Miguel de Allende from friends for many years we finally planned our five night visit as part of a several city trip in Mexico. We were blown away by the experience in SMA and would not think of staying elsewhere WHEN we return. The hotel coordinated our pickup form Leon and we always felt like valued...

Very disappointed! I do not recommend. Hotel is made up of several properties - "spa" is in a remote building and did not seemed operational yet my package included a massage and they massaged me in a freezing cold room on a very cold early morning. My "upgraded" room was made up of mismatched furniture.

We spent 3 nights . We have some perspective on renovated colonials from other towns such as Wahaca . This is a real nice and upscale property with impeccable service . Our room was spacious . Good restaurant . Good amenities

Such charm, such ambiance, such great service. This is a wonderful hotel! Our room had a fireplace which the staff lit for us at night, which helped warm the room. Our "butler", Gustavo, delivered coffee to us each morning, and even made a bracelet and an ornament for us to take home as souvenirs. The location is perfect, too.

Hotel is ideally located, near everything. Looks like an old hacienda on the hill. Church bells ring and you can hear them in the rooms but that is the charm of Centro. Ricardo, concierge, was a big help. Breakfast is very good. Bathrooms are old mexican style, not new and sleek.

We stayed in a huge suite overlooking a garden with a great patio. They have a few rooms about a 7 minute walk from the main property. We absolutely loved it. It was very quiet, the suite was charming, and the views were beautiful. We usually walked, but the hotel would pick us up whenever we wanted. We had a...

In additions to the incredible views and the exquisite rooms, the service at this hotel is top notch! Andres is first class in everything he does. He makes an incredible cocktail and even had someone bring in some of the best smelling mesquite madera for a fire place in the bar one cold afternoon. The setting was perfect. This place...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada is a mixture of 16th to 18th century Spanish colonial buildings, located one and one-half blocks from the cathedral and main city square of San Miguel de Allende. Its 37 rooms and suites are spread amongst six colonial mansions. Each casona, or mansion, which features five to seven guest rooms or suites, is unique. Many feature outdoor courtyards with fountains, small gardens and al fresco corridors. Guests do not have the feeling of being in a hotel at all. Rather, they are integrated into the town itself, making for a true cultural immersion. ... more   less
