Our stay at Smillie's was amazing. We loved it all, from the location, the suite, the ocean view and the hosts, Lorrette and Don. The breakfasts prepared by Lorrette are delicious and will fill you up to last until dinner time, while Don will share his knowledge of the area and how he felt the day the Golden Spruce was...

Well let's see. Where will I start. I've been staying at Smillies for a total of 5 stays at 3 nights per stay since 2008. Each of those stays have been perfect. Not one issue. Lorette and Don own and manage and watch over this gem which explains the consistant quality. The morning breakfast is always 2 thumbs up. It's...

It has been a year since we stayed at Smillie's and enjoyed both Haida Gwaii and our stay in Port Clements. And it was an experience that we have come to savour and one that we hope to redo some time in the near future. In the meantime, it has become one of those little treasures that we hold in...

Lorette has a handle on how to make guests feel welcome. She and her husband, Don, are perfect hosts. And the breakfasts were outstanding in every way. I cannot recommend this B and B enough. We stayed in the Island view room and enjoyed a fabulous deck with water views over to an island. The birds, belted kingfishers, welcomed us...

Lorette could (and should) write a book on how to run a B&B. She has created a welcoming environment with exquisite attention to every detail. The Scallop Shell Room was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. Breakfast delivered to the room was a delicious way to start the day. Thanks, Lorette and Don.

We had the great pleasure of staying in the Island View room for three nights at the end of October. The hosts provided outstanding hospitality, despite some exceptional circumstances. The room was beautifully decorated and spotless, and the breakfasts were tasty and thoughtful (edible flowers and delicious yogurt). We have already recommended this lovely B&B to many friends and family....

Convenient electric fire with remote control to take the chill off when needed. Lots of cushions and extra blankets available. Smilies B&B was highly recommended by other guest and I am in total agreement.. Very nice spacious room and an excellent breakfast. Lorette Smillie gave us very good information what to do on Haida Gwaii .We would stay here again.

We stayed at Smillies for 3 days following a 4-day Zodiac tour of Gwaii Haanas. The hosts are outstanding people who are excellent examples of what it means to be leaders in the hospitality industry. The hosts Lorette and Don really care for their guests and are terrifically accommodating down to the last detail. This B&B is in a central...
