Detailed Reviews
We recently stayed at the newly opened Hazelwood Estate which we came across quite by accident when we were looking for somewhere to stay in the Scenic Rim, we were not disappointed.
The estate is beautiful with lush grounds and its own polo field. The cabins were well appointed each with a fireplace, outdoor deck area to take in the amazing views and wild life.
The 3 course dinner at the estate restaurant was sensational, we had the wagyu which was out of this world, the bar and wine menu is also well stocked.
We also had a 2 hour treatment at the day spa, the girls were fantastic, if you are staying overnight I highly recommend treating yourself.
The staff were super attentive and accomodating nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you for a great unexpected stay.

We loved our stay at Hazelwood estate. The cabins were beautiful and the views were amazing! The service was excellent and the food was incredible. We got the three course meal and the beef tartare was next level and the mains (beef and pig) were delicious! It was worth every cent for us and we had a great time. Only one random little bit of feedback would be to provide a bin (other then the tiny bathroom one) in the cabin. Maybe in one of the draws in the kitchenette. Also loved watching the wildlife from our balcony :)

We booked Hazelwood for a quick one night getaway from Brisbane. The location is a beautiful mountain farm, as you drive in you pass wagyu cattle then pull up to the large car park, main building & restaurant. The service was great throughout with friendly attentive staff. The food was brilliant for dinner we choose to let the chef feed us and breaky was the same being presented with a great selection. They rooms are great and spread out just down from the restaurant. The grounds are an awesome walk up to the stables and polo field. We highly recommend this for either a day trip for lunch or an overnight dinner adventure.

Happy to provide feedback based on numerous concerns we had given the expense, and what we felt should have been inclusive for our money.
Upon our evening arrival in very wet, cold weather, we were taken by buggy to our tiny hut, which was incredibly small for two people, including the shower/bathroom. The huts and bathrooms were underwhelming for what we paid.
There was no coffee provided as stated in the welcoming letter, for either hut we had (party of 3) as we were advised by hospitality staff that they had not received a delivery of coffee. At a cost of $750 per night each hut, that is very poor, yet up in the main dining area coffee was available. We requested coffee to the person manning a room that may have been the main office, who wrote this down on a pad but none arrived nor any verbal reason.
One of the huts had no umbrella, which we needed due to the wet weather. We were told they were in our rooms by concierge.
Ridiculous walk for elderly or compromised guests to get up hill to the restaurant or car park. Buggies were on site but delays for help and staff were not always on hand.
Flooring was wet upon arrival, and no provision to light the fire the second night when we were cold, in either hut plus the wood was wet. No direct phone line for general house keeping concerns or service, only a voicemail, and an after hours number for emergency use only.
The breakfast comprised of muffins with cut in half, ordinary bland sausage meat and an egg. The fruit was cut in half plums, quartered orange with sliced bread and croissants. The presentation was so disappointing.
The hospitality staff whilst friendly, on our first night were run off their feet, and no one on hand to manage the floor from our observations. Delays of 20 mins to get our first ordered drink.
Whilst a beautiful setting, we left feeling that this was not quality or value for the money spent. Sadly, we will not be returning or recommending this venue to our family or friends.

Hi Caroline Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review. We genuinely appreciate your feedback as providing an exceptional experience for our guests is our top priority and we’re honestly disappointed your experience was not what you hoped for. We’re so proud to support incredible small businesses and boutique suppliers. However, unfortunately sometimes these businesses can be more susceptible to supply chain issues, and in this case, the recent heavy rainfall and flooding impacted on some of our deliveries including the in-room coffee supply. To address this, our staff were offering barista coffee up at the restaurant which we source from another supplier. We’re sorry to hear there were some service delays. Unfortunately, in this rare instance, we were suffering some staff shortages due to team members cut off due to the heavy rain and flooding. If you see the rest of the reviews, you’ll see we receive overwhelming positive feedback around our levels of service. Given this, we’d love the opportunity to address your feedback and make things right. Our General Manager Tom will be in touch shortly.

We drove an hour from the Gold Coast to eat here. Initially wowed by the setting. Lovely staff discussed our options - we opted for the chef's 4 course selection at $110 ph. Tasty sides, but the fish was dry, and the Angus beef fillet was overdone too - med to well-done. Beautiful setting, elegant venue, but let down by the kitchen. Not a place to which we'd return.

What an amazing property and more importantly the overall guest experience. We stayed for two nights in April and from the moment you enter the gated Estate it’s a magical place to just relax and do everything or do nothing. We had a warm greeting as we arrived and luggage was packed onto a buggy and we were driven to our luxury pavilion just a short distance from the restaurant and bar area. Our room had fantastic views into the woodland as well as views to the polo field. The room was well appointed with a fantastic bed, lounge area, wood fire, outdoor terrace, large bathroom with a rain shower and a seperate bath that overlooked the fantastic view, sipping champagne, watching the world by and the wallabies almost at the window was fantastic. The dinning experience on our first night was a five course degustation menu with matching wines was absolute fantastic and as they source so much of their food locally it certainly took the dinner to an even higher level, well done chefs great technique and detail, the service was fantastic and Jack really did make the whole evening, when you get food and service together at this level it’s really on point. Breakfast the next day was fantastic, certainly again hats off to the kitchen, we had organised a picnic hamper for lunch but due to the rain we asked what other options we had, the lady we spoke with basically said where ever you want, and there are a lot of options, we decided to have it on the terrace just off from the restaurant, so blankets were arranged picnic basket set up and a bottle of champagne on ice and we had a fantastic time, again service and food second to none. We then hit the spa in the afternoon for two hours of bliss, small and intimate with two treatment rooms but the quality of the products and the first class service was just brilliant. We decided for our last dinner just to order off the a la carte menu, just three courses with matching wines, again Jack was the star again as to the service, the food incredible. We will be back as we have travelled a lot and this estate is very special. Thanks team Roy and Daniel

Dear Daniel and Roy, Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a beautifully detailed review. This perfectly sums up the Beechmont Estate experience. As you would know, our staff take great pride in their customer service and attention to detail, so we’re pleased to hear that Jack took care of you, no request is too much trouble for our staff. We’re so please you enjoyed your time in one of our Luxury Pavilions. They are the perfect place to sit back, and soak up the hinterland surrounds, preferably from your bath with champagne! The Paddock tasting menu is an excellent choice for first time visitors, it allows you to sample a range of different dishes and explore new flavours. Our new Executive Chef Chris Norman has a refined approach which emphasises classic flavour combinations using modern techniques. With a trajectory rooted in Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels in the UK he now calls Beechmont home. We’re so pleased you got to enjoy a Paddock Picnic Hamper from the Sunset Terrace, this is a beautiful spot to sit back and watch the changing weather roll over the hills of Beechmont. Thank you again for your kind words, you can be assured they’ve been passed on to the team. We cannot wait to welcome you back to our hinterland hideaway. Warm regards,

We loved our stay at the beautiful Hazelwood Estate. We booked 2 nights for our baby moon (37 weeks), and wished we stayed longer! Staff were lovely and went above and beyond and we're very accommodating, offering buggy rides to and from the cabin.
We loved the delicious food at the paddock which included lots of amazing local produce and the staff were always mindful of my pregnancy safe food requirements.
We indulged in a 90 minute couples massage and I cannot recommend this enough. They also offer cheese and wine tasting and a tour of the the farm with one of the chefs.
Nearby, there are walking trails and lookouts with breathtaking views of the Gold Coast hinterland.
Hazelwood is the perfect B&B if you're wanting to unwind, relax and disconnect from the real world. We will definitely be returning Hazelwood!

We had the perfect romantic getaway! The scenery is stunning. The staff was very professional and dinner was a five star experience. We also booked the Cocktail Masterclass, great value for money and fun and interesting experience to our night away. The accommodation was really comfortable and private and the fireplace was ready to go when we arrived on a cold and rainy night. What a pleasure we will be back again and again!!! Every single detail was amazing!

The rooms are lovely and quite spacious. The king bed is comfortable and the pillows are great. The deck is a good size to sit out and relax. The log fire is great and makes the room exceptionally warm and there is reverse cycle aircon also. The massages were excellent with Elle and Mel. The cocktails up at the lodge are made well and it is a lovely place to sit and relax and meet new people. I wasn't overly happy with all the meals, some were good, some not so good. Breakfast needs work and I would prefer to have a choice which they don't give. It cannot be that hard to have a couple of choices. As well as the massage ladies, Tom and Matilda were staff who went out of their way to help. All in all a great experience which will be done again and recommended to others also.

On first impression it looks nice, the rooms are good although a bin in the sleeping area would be handy. The staff are very helpful. Apart from the Spa there aren't any activities to do apart from walking or sitting in the lounge area. The dinner and breakfast let it down. Pasta dishes are good but the meat dishes are literally that meat. A $45 lamb dish, which was a little fatty comes with no salad or vegetables as this is a side order. That isn't a problem but the fact that it isn't included in the package is. Breakfast is a buffet style brought to you table and includes only one of each dish so sharing a dish for one is the only option. Tomato salad at breakfast is a little unusual.
