Beechmont Estate is about 45 minutes inland from the beaches of the Gold Coast, and being inland its also several degrees cooler. The estate basically consists of about 20 cabins, the majority of which are of a standard size and configuration. The 40sm of each cabin includes a spacious balcony that looks out over rolling hills, a comfortable and cosy cabin style room with a fireplace, and a luxury bathroom. Upon arrival we were greeted by the wonderful Donna, who drove us and our bags to our cabin. Cars remain in the carpark at the top of Beechmont Estate, with golf buggy style vehicles being used by the staff for getting around the property. The central point of Beechmont Estate is the main building which includes the extravagant Paddock Restaurant. The meals in the Paddock are fine dining, and they are spectacular. The bar has the largest range of alcohol that I've encountered, and all the staff are not only knowledgable but also friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble at Beechmont, and that attitude is a key point in the overall experience that will keep us coming back for many visits in the future. Thank you to Donna and all her team for making our visit so special, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Dear Michael, Wow – what a lovely review to read. You’ve summed up the Beechmont experience beautifully! As you know, our staff pride themselves on excellent customer service, with no request being too much trouble for our guests, so it’s lovely to hear how special they made your stay. The culinary team at The Paddock restaurant are incredibly passionate about provoking the senses and creates their dishes with a focus on hyper-local and sustainable produce, using this produce from root-to-stem and nose-to-tail. You've covered just about everything. Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a detailed review. We look forward to welcoming you back to our hinterland hideaway again soon.

Property's Favourite Review
We stayed at Beechmont Estate for a few nights immediately after our wedding and it was the perfect stay. Arriving at Beechmont was immediately a feeling of calm and peace with such breathtaking views and a very warm welcome from the team. Donna, Stuart and the team went over and above for us throughout our entire stay. Our pavillion was prepared ahead of time by turning on our lights, including the beautiful chandelier, and heating to ensure a comfortable arrival. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and the layout and inclusions were beyond expectation. The team generously provided us with the use of an ATV which we enjoyed using to drive up to the Polo house for a game of pool and the gorgeous views. Our favourite part was the food and drink. Every single meal and cocktail was prepared to perfection and delivered with so much love. The Paddock restaurant has a wonderful ambience, and the staff are friendly, warm and very attentive. We couldn't fault a single thing about our time at Beechmont Estate. We look forward to returning again very soon.

This was an extension to my wife’s 80th birthday. We pre-booked the degustation for 8 people. On arrival we had to phone for the gate code to access the venue so they should have known we were we presented however there was no welcome or advise where to go. There was no menu offered and the wait person described each dish to one end of the table only. We were not impressed with the food and as a comparison the Marriott at Surfers Paradise provides a much better menu for a lesser price. Every dish was brown from the lasagne to the rib to the beef and the deconstructed chocolate mousse. Disappointed presentation. Check it out if you ever think of make a booking.

I really don’t like posting negative reviews but I feel the need to in this case. The cabins are very small for the cost but comfortable. We had a package which included dinner and breakfast. Dinner was tiny and borderline inedible. Sides were extra and not included in the already very expensive price. Breakfast is a set menu and was far better and tastier than dinner. However again for the price you don’t expect to get 1 egg and 1 piece of bacon each. We wanted to do the afternoon garden tour which was advertised however the tours were not going ahead in the month of July. We did however see the so called farm garden and it was just empty beds of nothing. The setting is very nice but I feel it was a complete ripoff.

Hi Anna, We were sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay at Beechmont Estate. Executive Chef Simon is incredibly passionate about provoking the senses and creates his dishes with a focus on hyper-local and sustainable produce, using this produce from root-to-stem and nose-to-tail. This particular type of dining style is expensive and does not suit every taste. Our breakfast selection includes a rustic Farmer’s Platter assortment of the very best local produce so that all that is left to do is select a coffee or juice. Unfortunately, our Kitchen Garden Tours had to be cancelled for the month of July due to the seasonality of the garden, we hope to welcome you back one day when the garden is in bloom, we recommend the spring. Our guests find that the size of our cabins are more than adequate for short, cosy stays. Set amongst the hinterland, the surrounds are breathtaking and the estate is designed to allow guests to immerse themselves in nature for an authentic country escape. We thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

I’d like to start my review by noting that I had given feedback to the restaurant directly through the booking platform however I never heard back. We had been really excited for our booking at the Paddock to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Service was decent and the venue was lovely. Unfortunately, the food itself was extremely disappointing for the exorbitant price tag. Deciding to treat ourselves for a special occasion, we went with the chefs tasting menu- $130/person. I am a pescetarian, my partner is not. I made this explicit when booking and then again in person - i.e. i clearly explained that I am a pescatarian but my partner eats anything I am not sure if the chef did not understand our dietaries or was just lazy, but with the exception of one (not pleasant) "fish wing" dish- every meal we received was 100% vegan. Despite my partner eating meat and me making this clear, the main they chose to serve both of us was a plate of cauliflower with a side of kale. For $130 a head, this was extremely disappointing- I am not sure why he wasn't served a meat dish which they clearly promote as something they specialise in and would have been much more worth the money. There were also dishes with fish and cheese on the standard menu, so I am not sure why they chose to treat my pescatarian dietary requirements as vegan. For a $130/head chefs menu, I would expect our dietary requirements to be individually catered to (meat for him, fish/veg for me) rather than a blanket approach with vegan meals for both of us. This has always been the case for every chefs menu we have ordered at other restaurants. If it is your policy for everyone from a party to be served the same dietaries they should have told us this, and we would have just ordered from the (cheaper) standard menu. In the end, I seriously regretted not ordering off the standard menu so that we could get something more substantial than radish, onion, cauliflower and kale for our $130. We left hungry despite eating 5 dishes and spending more than we ever have at any banquet at comparably high-end restaurants in Brisbane/gold coast. Ultimately a massive disappointment as we had trusted Beechmont estate with a significant occasion for us and we got a $130 plate of cauliflower

I guess disappointing always reflects expectations. However, when a property is being marketed under “Luxury Escapes” it is reasonable to expect something a bit above three-star level. The approach into Beechmont Estate is picturesque with the Paddock Restaurant and administration office located centrally within rolling hills. The cottages placed below look out onto vegetation, unless you are in one that overlooks the other cabins below. I have stayed in other cabins and, sadly, these fall far short of expectations. Physically located close together, privacy is compromised. Then there is the size of the room - barely big enough to accommodate a king sized bed, small cabinet containing the mini-bar, tiny wardrobe and compact ensuite. While there is a pleasant veranda providing outdoor seating, the weather on the mountain is not always conducive to this. The bed deserves special mention - extremely soft, lacking support, it feels like a hammock with the body ending up in a banana curve by morning. One would expect that after only 18 months, beds would not be that worn out. The Paddock Restaurant does indeed serve beautiful food - locally sourced and made in-house. A journey for the tastebuds. However, after three dinners and three breakfasts, there is marked repetition. If you are not someone who eats eggs every morning, then options include mushrooms - one can only eat so many mushrooms, especially when they also appear on the dinner menu. For one night with only one evening meal and one breakfast, or perhaps a special lunch, I can highly recommend this venue. Should you decide to stay longer, make sure you have other activities planned to fill the days as there is a glaring absence of anything to do on the property. The unused games room boasts a pool table and dart-board-cabinet minus the dart board. I won’t even go into the errors made with our booking. Should you decide to give this venue a try, may I suggest one of the larger cabins or those numbered 4-6 to avoid being overlooked.

Hi Victoria, Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review and communicate your experience with us. We were really sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay at Beechmont Estate. We are consistently working to improve our offering for longer stay guests and have since implemented variations to our menu at the Chef’s Hatted The Paddock restaurant to avoid meals being too repetitious for in-house guests. We were surprised to hear your feedback around the bed as we often get rave reviews about how incredibly comfortable and cloud-like our beds are. Our guests also find that the size of our cabins are adequate for short, cosy stays. All of our cabins have been designed with privacy at top of mind. The higher-level cabins look over the lower-level cabins from a distance but with zero visibility into the accommodation, we are confident the cabins provide a private, secluded space for our guests to retreat to at the end of the day after exploring the hinterland. The estate offers a relaxing country experience with fine dining, spa treatments and kitchen garden tours on offer. If you are looking for something a little more adventurous, our friendly staff are more than happy to recommend activities and experiences to do in the local area. Some of these include bush walks in the nearby World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, horse trail rides and much more. Warm regards,

We just spent two nights at Beechmont Estate. We were welcomed by Donna who with her staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The cabin was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the view of green paddocks from our verandah was very calming. The restaurant was the highlight. The chef is clearly passionate about his work. His food is creative, inspiring and delicious. When it comes to breakfast you will be blown away by what is presented once again not your ordinary breakfast but one that leaves you in awe. Thank you Donna and your team for your wonderful hospitality. We shall return.

A lovely place in a beautiful part of the world. A lot of effort and $ has clearly gone into this farm stay, it’s very well done. The restaurant is 5/5; someone in that kitchen is a super-star! .. also very good value for the quality. These guys have clearly been hit hard by the shortage of hospo staff, I met 4 staff who had been there less than a month. As a result, we had some odd occurrences like two attempts to clear our plates half way through our meal and a “set” in room fire sans paper and kindling. We also got the handicapped bathroom with 3/4 length curtains that meant the entire bathroom getting soaked after each shower. Not withstanding these issues, i would recommend

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the meals, we are so excited to announce that The Paddock Restaurant was recently awarded a Chef's Hat by Australian Good Food Guide so the culinary team are all super stars. The hospitality industry has definitely felt the effects of covid, it is so lovely to hear that you are able to acknowledge this as our team works tirelessly to deliver exceptional service to our guests. Beechmont Estate, a shared experience A need of a forty eight hour recouping of thoughts, feelings, friendship and a desire for excellent country cuisine is required, Beechmont Estate is your destination of choice. Settled on a ridgeline bordering the Lamington National Park, Beechmont Estate with its central building of reception, bar and restaurant dominates the skyline. Looking down from this central position is seen the nest of comfortably appointed hillside purchased cabins completing the Estate. Prepared and presented to be shared, breakfast and dinner are the Estate’s featured meals. With selection for each menu varying daily dinners never go wanting. For those knowing there is always the surprise in the unknown, for the evening meal the selection of the Paddock-to-Plate choice is rewarded with a sumptuous multi course presentation limited only by the restaurant chef’s imagination. Matching wines are of course, dinners choice. For lunch light meals are available, but for only those who think too much food is not enough. Bush-walks both long and short within the nearby national park are a featured daytime option. Then again so is being purchased on the balcony of one’s cabin with a partner enjoying a mid afternoon glass of wine enjoying a moment in time while anticipating the coming evening’s mealtime experience. Of course none of this can happen without an always ready to assist staff, and that they are. Yes a shared experience at Beechmont Estate is something to be had.
