As I have some mobility issues, my daughter took the upstairs bedroom and I had the downstairs one.
We found both beds very comfortable.
We also enjoyed the 'formal' table and later played some table games provided in the tv/sitting room.
Wilson explained that the deck leading off of the sitting room was a work in progress and they are working on having it replace. Since we were only staying one night, it was not an issue to us.
Reading the log books, you will notice there are a few references to 'ghostly' encounters. That didn't bother me but my daughter was a little uneasy with it. I also had an experience but nothing really unsettling.
One other thing of note, Wilson Spaghetti was AMAZING! I am Not a fan of black olives, I like my spaghetti sauce with meat in it, and I couldn't find any salt n pepper, however... once we tasted it we were amazed at how delicious it was!! It honestly was THE BEST spaghetti sauce I've ever had and didn't need any salt or pepper.
All in all our stay was really good and memorable. My daughter, who lives in Australia said she will definitely go back with friends.
While there are some small things you may notice that are not fully restored, and it is not a 5 star place, the uniqueness of this place is well worth the stay, and to have a dinner included!
I definitely would recommend giving it a try if you are planning on being in the area.

We were expecting a 5 star luxury converted church with a deck and lovely gardens.
Massive disappointment.
The front was really run down and dirty.
The owner said the deck was rotten and has to be demolished. The front steps looked to be very dangerous
When stepping inside We should have just left. The place was mouldy above windows and ceilings. Air cond was black would not use. Cracked windows and doors. Frames 0n windows had rot.
Bathroom needs complete Reno.
It was filthy and dusty beds uncomfortable
The musty smell hits you when you walk in no ventilation
We have stayed at a lot of places and this appeared to be such neglect of a beautiful bit of history.
We did lock ourselves out and the owners came across quickly as they live across the road.

It is a lovely private location and the hosts are obviously aware there isn't much to do in the region as they provide a number of board games, chess set, backgammon set, playing cards, DVDs, CDs and books to keep your occupied. A home cooked pasta sauce waits to be re-heated on the stove upon arrival, along with a fridge already filled with dips, crackers, fruit, chocolate and milk.
The decor and furnishings are lovely and very comfortable. There are little nic-nacs all around to reinforce the church vibe. Across the road is the owners residence in case you need anything but we didn't for the whole weekend. There is also a magnificent view of a valley and the mountains from their property.
It is located fairly close to the road but there isn't much traffic and both bedrooms are located at the back of the church so this wasn't a distraction. There is a rooster who is active in the morning.
Outside yard is an overgrown mess. Front steps rotted dangerous health risk. Back steps equally unsafe and the deck totally rotten in places with a major concern to walk or be sitting on in places. Gutters full of leaves and rotten tree debris. Water from tanks discolored and then we ran out of water on third morning!!
Inside kitchen, lounge and upper bedroom quaint. However only small amount wood provided for fire. Fireplace glass in door loose.. dangerous. Front glass doors to church huge cracks thru both doors-not a good look.
Main air conditioner absolutely filthy in need of a service and clean of filter.
Kitchen needed more glasses, only one small saucepan, no breadboard or cutting board. No cloth for the sink. Oven door wouldn't close properly.. we put a bungy cord around it so we could cook our dinner. Wilson said they were looking for a second hand replacement stove. Well it needed to to work and there is not much available in food places up there.
2nd bedroom freezing no heater provided. Everything dusty. Linen on bed musty and doona stained.
3rd bedroom, a joke.. tired old sofa bed lounge with a dirty sheet on it. The under mattress looked like mice had been chewing on it, dirty with holes.. had to ask for sheets. No pillows., luckily we had bought a couple with us. I wouldn't be surprised if there had been mice as they had mice traps set everywhere throughout the church.
The towels provided were old and musty. One had brown stains on it. We used washer/drier which took hours to wash and partial dry the towels. The bathroom was tiny and crowded with the washer drier being in there. Shower mouldy. It had great hot water until we ran out of water.
Overall the place needed a deep clean, alot of maintenance needs to be done, deck steps dangerous .. A rip off at $240 a night. Totally spoilt our weekend away.. renters beware.
"There are no window coverings so the church gets light quite early in the morning (5am sunrises while we stayed). Bring an eye mask if you can only sleep in the dark."Read full review
