Booking confirmed and then just a credit card message to say that my card has been declined and when I phoned, they informed me that they are overbooked. Baily s did not try to contact me in any way to inform me that I should look for alternative accommodation.

It's almost better than home :D Very nice place to stay at in Muizenberg. It was very clean at Baileys. Great place to meet awesome people. Surfer Paradise. Close to the beach. Easy to find. Not far away from Cape Town (20 min drive) and close to awesome touristic activities. It was a perfect stay there, we would come back...

We stayed there for one night and a day. The nice motto you see when entering nicely frames everything you see in the place. 'We live to surf, we work to survive' (...along these lines). It appeared like a group of surfers living in a run down place, and accepting paying 'strangers' in sometimes to pay the bills...Run down (particularly...

The staff and other guests were young, friendly, kind and patient with my small children. The pictures on the walls created a lovely atmosphere. I am still waiting for photo TJ promised to send me. I was under the impression my family of 5 would have private room which would have helped as the kids had no appropriate place to...

It is a really cool place and everybody is very close and they're like a family. One feels welcome from the very first day one walks in. It's not too far from the beach, which is awesome. Really cool place.

When we arrived, only the parking felt like a bit of a problem, but that is the case in all streets here, so just parked it really close to the sidewalk. Walked in and 2 lovely dogs came walking up, Bailey and Baxter. The guy in the reception was a great guy, showed us around to our rooms, which was...

Hanging out with nice people and feeling welcome in a nice decorated surfer's hostel. It's a place I do recommend if you are an easy going person who loves to surf. A big advantage is that the hostel lies in a quiet street.

It's definitely the best place to stay in Muizenberg. All the staff is friendly, the place is clean and the location, close to the beach but away from the crowds, is perfect. The kitchen is fully furnished and you'll enjoy the free coffee ;)

If you are looking for a surf experience, this is where to go, located close to the amazing beach of Muizenberg. Bongi and his team makes you feel at home, they can give you nice tips on where to go and what you might be doing wrong on the board. The inside is cosy with bigscreen tv and foosball table.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bailey's Surf Shack is located in the heart of Muizenberg; nestled between the mountain, sea and vlei. The village is a mix of vibrant cultures and home to a very diverse community. Shops, restaurants and bars are just down the road and the waves are crashing 100m from the doorstep. Muizenberg is synonymous with surfing as it is the birthplace of surfing in South Africa. The first wave was ridden here in 1917. At Bailey's we eat, sleep and breathe surfing. We are a friendly bunch and love to share our home with beautiful people and travelers from around the world. ... more   less
