We received a very warm welcome from the owner, Claire, and after a long journey were soon relaxing with a nice cuppa and a spot of fruit cake in the drawing room by the open fire. There was even a restorative G&T on offer. The house is delightful, the bedrooms expansive and very well appointed and the breakfast fully justified...

The most beautiful bed & breakfast in a stunning location, with surrounding area ideal for walkers. Amazing attention to detail a real home from home. Delicious food especially the plentiful locally sourced breakfast. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the old rectory at the weekend and it was lovely. So much better than staying in some chain hotel. The owners were warm and welcoming, the hotel itself is full of character. The room we stayed in was a very generous size, clean and tidy with lots of little touches to make you feel at home. Would...

Six of us stayed here recently for an event close by. We stayed here last year and loved it so much we returned. It's a wonderful spacious house with lovely bedrooms, comfortable beds and far reaching views in a quiet but convenient position. Claire and John are very welcoming and there is always tea and one of Claire's lovely cakes...

Met friends who were staying here for an evening meal. Beautiful and elegant property in a lovely setting, hosts were very welcoming and the overall ambience was very refined. The food was freshly prepared with local produce and was very, very good, cooked with love to a very high standard. A real little gem tucked away.

A generous welcome, splendid house, very quiet and good food. A little idiosycratic but none the worse for that. A friendly and relaxing stay. Plenty to see in the locality and pleasing to return to the haven of peace and quiet to be so well looked after by Claire and John for whom nothing was too much trouble.

We booked a room here for Sunday evening and arrived mid-afternoon to the warmest of welcomes. The room we had on the second floor was huge, beautifully appointed and with a massive en suite with shower and entirely separate bath. The toiletries were very high quality, as were the fluffy towels, and everywhere was spotless. We didn't eat in for...
